Notes:

  • The CS-CR41 includes two wiring harnesses for older and newer model vehicles. Only one of the wiring harnesses will be used for your particular vehicle.
  • The CRUX CS-CR41 does not retain Uconnect.

Amplified or Non-Amplified Systems: The CRUX CS-CR41 can be used in Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Mitsubishi, and Volkswagen vehicles with or without a factory amplified system. It does not support front and rear fading in vehicles with a factory amplified system.

Steering Wheel Control Retention: The CRUX CS-CR41 also features a steering wheel control output for Pioneer, Sony, Alpine, Clarion, Kenwood, JVC , Jensen, Dual/Axxera, Boss and other aftermarket head units. The steering wheel control output consists of a right-angle 3.5mm connector and a light blue/yellow wire (use the connection that your aftermarket head unit is fitted with). The Crux interface module will work with any of the listed aftermarket head units, by setting its three dip-switches (see owner's manual for appropriate setting).

Note: There are two steering wheel control harnesses; you will only use one based on the brand of your aftermarket stereo. Both feature a 4-pin connector which plugs into the interface module. One of the SWC harnesses is equipped with a 3.5mm connector and one blue/yellow wire (for Alpine/Clarion/JVC/Kenwood/Jensen/Dual/Boss), while the other is only equipped with a 3.5mm connector (for Pioneer/Sony).

Navigation Outputs: The CRUX CS-CR41 provides a Parking Brake, Reverse Trigger and VSS (Vehicle Speed Sense) wire for simplifying the installation of an aftermarket navigation receiver.

Customer Q&A

Q
What is each of the 3 switches on the device for?
jimmy  May 22, 2025
1 answer
A
Hey James, thanks for the question. So those three dip switches are used in tandem to program the module with the radio you are installing it with. Essentially the brand of radio you are using will determine the combination of On/Off switches. Those combinations can be found in the owner's manual on the very last page which you can find below. https://pdf.crutchfieldonline.com/ImageBank/v20230807103900/Manuals/249/249CSCR41.PDF

devin  Sep 14, 2024

A
This will depend largely on your vehicle. For details on installation please contact an Advisor by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat. They will be able to pull up your vehicle and give you the details on what you will need for an installation.

Q
It works on a Jeep Liberty KK 2011 with a Kenwood DMX-7522S?
david  Sep 13, 2024
1 answer
A
Greetings David. Thank you for your question. The Crux C-CR41 is more vehicle specific than aftermarket stereo specific. This is compatible with the 2011 Liberty.

Q
does this give me fader options with aftermarket stereo for 2006 dodge ram with 7 speakers infinity system?
tien  Mar 07, 2024
1 answer
A
Greetings Tien. Thank you for your question. This interface will not, but most will not either. The only interfaces that can retain fade in the 7 speaker Infinity system are from ADS (Idatalink Maestro), and the stereo you are installing must also have that Idatalink port.

mcclane  Jan 11, 2023

This port is useful for updating the firmware if you need to in the future, McClane. This is a great reason to choose Crux and to make sure you have a radio that is working well into the future!

Q
Is this compatible with the Pioneer DMH-130BT head unit?
phillip  Apr 14, 2022

This Crux interface will work with that Pioneer radio to help install it and will also retain steering wheel radio controls! Other parts may be needed to help install that Pioneer receiver. We have advisors that can be reached by calling 1-800-324-9695 who can give a personal recommendation on all the gear needed to install it
