External vibrations can affect the sound quality of high-performance audio gear. Pangea Audio's Vulcan Parawood audio rack is built rock-solid to virtually eliminate unwanted vibration. The rack features a striking butcher block parawood construction that shows a gorgeous natural wood grain. The rack can be assembled in minutes without tools. It's also modular, so you can add extra shelves, drawers, and other accessories.
Vibration-dampening construction
The 0.8"-thick shelves are made of solid parawood with a hand-polished clear semi-gloss finish. The steel support tubes bolt together with the shelves to create a strong, ultra-rigid rack. Steel spikes minimize contact with the floor — and its vibrations. They rest in tapered polymer cones that further dampen vibrations between the spikes and the support tubes.
Sustainable parawood
The parawood tree is ideal for supplying hardwood, as it's both plentiful and sustainable. The tree is grown in plantations in Southeast Asia and Central America. Each tree is grown from a previous one that's been felled.
Parawood trees produce sap used to make rubber. After about 20 years, the tree — which can grow to up to 80 feet — dries out. It's then harvested, and another tree planted in its place.

Parawood 4-Shelf Audio Rack: The Parawood 4-Shelf Audio Rack is part of Pangea's Vulcan Series. It is beautifully designed and well engineered with contoured Parawood shelves and a steel bolt-together design that can hold a system's worth of electronic components and gear. Each shelf can support up to 85 lbs for a total stand weight capacity of 340 lbs.
- Top Shelf: The top shelf measures 23.75" wide and 18" deep.
- Middle Shelves: The two middle shelves measures 19.375" wide (between posts), 7.25" tall, and 18" deep.
- Bottom Shelf: The bottom shelf measures 19.375" wide (between posts), 8.75" tall, and 18" deep.
Rigid Construction: This 4-shelf audio rack from Pangea features uxurious 0.8"-thick solid Parawood hardwood shelves with a durable hand-polished finish and elegant silver-finish steel support tubes. The stand's steel bolt-together design creates a super strong and ultra rigid platform that is resonance-resistant.
Open-Air Design: The Pangea Parwood 4-Shelf Audio Rack's open-air design is great for electronic components and gear. The design maximizes component ventilation and makes it easy to install or remove gear.
Tapered Cone Feet With Spikes: At the bottom of the Pangea Parawood 4-Shelf Audio Rack are tapered cone feet and carpet-piercing spikes. This cone/spike combination rigidly holds the stand in place and prevents floor vibrations from influencing the turntable's performance. For customers with hard surface floors, a set of "Mini Sonic Saucers" are included to protect wood or tile finishes. You can also purchase Pangea's Vulcan Roll-On Casters (sold separately - see Accessories Tab) to add mobility to the turntable stand.
Optional Additional Shelving: If you need an extra shelf or two for holding components and your vinyl record collection, you can purchase additional add-on shelf kits (sold separately - see Accessories Tab). The 7" tall support tubes for the middle shelves can also be swapped out for 10" tall support tubes (sold separately - see Accessories Tab).
Note: You can create any combination of regular and LP-Storage shelves (up to 6) that you like. However, it is not recommended to have combinations that are more than 42" tall.
