Cutting-edge lights

The NXL IQ8 will create a memorable impression with its advanced Digital LED lights behind the woofer cone. Each LED is addressable, so you can change the individual diodes and create chasing light patterns with the optional LC-DRM or LC-RGBDRM. If you incorporate the controller, you can select the light colors and patterns from your smartphone with the free DS18 LC app, and integrate the lights with your other light-up speakers, subwoofers, or amplifiers.

Built to blast

Projecting big sound is tough in an open environment. This speaker's high and ample power handling puts out plenty of sound. You'll hear all the details too, thanks to the 1" bullet tweeter mounted to the grille for maximum dispersion of the highs.

Features

Marine Design: The DS18 NXL-IQ series marine speakers are designed for the harshest elements with UV protection and an IP65 weatherproof rating. The NXL-IQ8 speakers also feature built-in digital RGB LED lighting for a customized listening experience.

Construction:

8" Woofer: The DS18 NXL-IQ8 marine speakers feature an 8" injection-molded polypropylene woofer cone, supported by a Butyl rubber surround. A 1.5" voice coil with glass-fiber former material is stabilized by ferrite and neodymium magnets, providing unparalleled performance.
1" Bullet Tweeter: The marine speaker also features a 1" floating bullet tweeter mounted in the grille. The tweeter features a 1" voice coil and Kapton former supported by an N35H neodymium magnet.
Basket: The NXL-IQ8 speakers feature an injection-molded composite basket with UV coating for long-lasting durability.

Power: The 4-ohm NXL-IQ8 2-way speakers can handle up to 175 watts RMS (350 W peak).

Digital RGB LED Lighting: The NXL-IQ8 marine speakers are outfitted with built-in digital LED lighting that will light up the woofer cone when activated. Four terminals on the speaker basket let you connect the included 47" digital LED wire harnesses to an optional DS18 LC-DRM Digital LED Controller (sold separately - see Accessories), providing a wide range of color and motion options for the built-in LED lighting.

Note: The NXL-IQ8's digital RGB LED lighting requires the DS18 LC-DRM Digital LED Controller and cannot be operated by a standard analog RGB lighting controller.

Speaker Wiring: The DS18 NXL-IQ8 speakers feature two slip-on terminals (0.250" and 0.187") for connecting the two included 58" lengths of speaker wire.

Free-Air Mounting: The DS18 marine speakers are designed to be mounted without the need for an enclosure or box space. The 2-way speakers can be mounted to a baffle or bulkhead in a free-air configuration. A cutout template is provided for installation.

Speaker Grille: The NXL-IQ8 marine speakers feature spoke-style speaker grilles made of injection-molded composite. The grilles are not removable.
