The Dali Sound
Scott from Gilbert, AZ on 8/9/2024
Great sounding speaker, sparkly detailed highs without the tweeters being too bright and in your face. Slightly scooped midrange with plenty of bass. I run in my living room without a sub. They are rear ported so keep them well away from the wall. 100hr break in period and they really start to come to life, the tweeters settle down slightly and mids seem to balance out a little more! Great speaker for under $1000

Hello Dali
Robert from Sorrento, FL on 7/31/2024
Hello, D?ali This is ?me, D?ali It's so nice to have you ?here where you belong You're ?sounding swell, D?ali I can tell, D?ali You're still glowin', you're still crowin' You're still goin' strong I feel the room swayin' While the band's playin' One of our old favorite songs from way back ?when... Still breaking these Dali's in but sounding pretty good only after 2 weeks. Paired with the Pioneer's VSX-07TX - Marantz SE CD Player (vintage components) ?Clean and detailed performance across the sound stage, warm and mellow. Highly recommended.
Pros: Warm detailed sound upper and lower frequencies. Very forgiving speaker placement. Good imaging. classic looking speaker, especially the wood fiber cone, cool.
Cons: Magnetized grills would be conventient but I believe I understand the reasoning for not having the grills magnetic and flush up against the front cabinet.

So good I bought a second pair!!!
Mike from Beecher, IL on 7/24/2024
I have a small set up in my home gym. I was using Dali Spektor 2s and to be honest they were working quite fine, but when I saw these on sale how could I resist!? I knew they would sound great because I already have a pair in my main set up. By far one of the best bookshelf speakers you can buy!
Pros: They sound great!!!
Cons: None

Dali Audio Art
Steve from Hollister, CA on 7/22/2024
Thank You Crutchfield once again for the Outlet experience! Saved close to 300 dollars buying Scratch & Dent. What scratch? What dent? Beautiful, rich sounding Oberon 3's in walnut arrived within the customary, free shipping-2 days. Paired with pedestrian 90 watt Sony AVR and a 25 year old 8" Velodyne subwoofer. The Dali sound is very unique and satisfying. Get a pair!
Pros: High level performance for price.

Audio file quality
Jim from Mount Pleasant, MI on 3/12/2024
This is one of the best speakers I have ever heard. The imagining and sound stage is huge. The detail and clarity are impressive. The speakers play like they are floor standing towers. I have measured the frequency response and they are flat across the entire range and are timbre matched. I have nine Dali speakers in my home theater set up and they are exceptional in movies and television shows as well as music I would highly recommend this brand to anyone serious about sound quality and accurate reproduction off intent from the artist. ??
Pros: Sound reproduction, quality of build, value for price
Cons: None

Not a match for my space
Kenneth from Kernersville, NC on 12/30/2022
I had auditioned the floor-standing Oberon 5's at a local hi-fi store and their sound was almost exactly what I have been seeking. Great vocals, acoustic guitar, nice highs, a good balance, decent if not super-controlled bass. Thought I'd try the open-box Oberon 3 bookshelves for the smaller space I'd be playing them in. Perhaps they needed much more break-in, but they just didn't work in my environment at the low-to-moderate listening levels I'd be using. Bass was muddy and uneven, and the treble had a sharp edge that fatigued my listening. Worst, the soft dome tweeters were dimpled on arrival due to the tweeter guards being installed improperly when they were repacked. Note that the unprotected tweeter domes extend above the speaker front and so are susceptible to this type of damage. The grilles have a stiff plastic lattice on the inside which adequately shelters the tweeters when the grilles are on. If you have curious children or animals in the house you'd definitely want to keep these grilles in place. From my auditions at the audio store, I know that the next-level Dali Opticons (Danish factory, not China) have much tighter, more detailed bass and better overall detail, but are outside my comfort zone as far as price. Ended up trying a pair of Wharfedale Denton 80th Anniversary (not carried by Crutchfield), which easily beat the Oberons in bass and midrange detail, heft and looks (real wood veneer vs. vinyl), and which work better in near-field listening.
Pros: Well built, revealing in some frequencies, better suited to larger listening areas. No need to toe-in for best sound, and in fact, this is the factory recommendation.
Cons: Muddy, uneven bass, not much extension.

I've only had these speakers for a couple of weeks and I'm sure they need some time to break in but I set them up and they sounded amazing. I've tried Wharfdales and Elac they were good but I wasn't satisfied. I would highly recommend them .
Pros: Great clarity excellent bass
Cons: None

Smooth Operators
Raul from San Antonio, TX on 6/29/2022
I've been running these for around a month and feel I have a good understanding of their sound. Little background: I've had a pair of Klipsch RP-600Ms for around a year and, while I love the dynamic sound, I found them a bit too fatiguing in long listening sessions. Because of this my goal was to find a pair of speakers that retain the dynamics while providing a smoother, less fatiguing delivery. I purchased these DALIs based on a recommendation and couldn't be more pleased. In my experience they take about 20-30 hours of break-in to start blooming, but once you get past this they sound fantastic! They have a sound that I can best describe as lush. It's detailed without sounding rigid and a bit forward without sounding bright. The tweeter and driver maintain great cohesion and deliver a very balanced, smooth sound that never gets fatiguing. I can listen to these for hours on end without getting tired. They're also fantastic with off-axis performance and are designed to be pointed straight forward. Because of this I found them much easier to position than my old speakers, which were a bit finicky with placement. This is super important to me because my listening room is small and I don't have a lot of room to experiment with placement. I currently have them paired with a Rega IO amplifier and cannot be more pleased with the sound!
Pros: - Soundstage - Off-Axis Performance - Smooth and detailed presentation
Cons: - DALI optimized them with the grilles on. Not a con for me, but may be for you if you prefer speakers with the grilles off

Excellent detail and dynamics
JR in Cville from Charlottesville on 5/9/2022
I've been running a pair of these for my main two-channel rig for the past month or so, and I love what they do. They throw a big, wide soundstage, with instruments and vocals placed precisely within it. To my ear, they're really good at resolving subtle differences in texture and dynamics; there's a fluidity and continuity to the sound that's hard to describe but fun to listen to. Seems like everyday I'll tell myself, "Just a couple of tunes," then two hours later I realize I'm still listening. I'm driving the Oberon 3s with a Primare I15 Prisma amp, and they seem happy. I've placed them on some beefy older Sanus Foundations stands with the columns filled with sand for extra mass and density. Highly recommended!
Pros: Excellent performance, especially for the price
