Upgrade your REL's high-level connection

REL is famous for their high-level connection, and they include a solid cable in the box for subs that support it. The Bassline Blue is designed as a step up from that cable, offering improved signal quality and reliability with its meticulous construction. It delivers excellent clarity and contrast that illuminates your soundstage for a richer listening experience overall.

For starters, the high-purity copper wire used in this cable far exceeds the quality of industry standards. It's more in line with the copper used by the military or in high-speed telecommunications than what's usually found in audio gear. And all of the cable's connections use high-quality silver solder for better conductivity and minimized oxidation.

Hooking it up

Hooking up this cable only takes a few minutes. The Neutrik Speakon connector on one end plugs into the high-level input on your compatible sub. The three gold-coated spade connectors on the other end are connected directly the output terminals on your amp or input terminals on your speakers.

This type of connection doesn't draw power from your amp, but instead allows the same exact signal to be passed simultaneously to your main speakers and the sub's analog filters. This technique captures the sonic signature of your audio system, including the tonal balance and timing cues of your entire electronics chain. This allows your sub to seamlessly blend with your main speakers for rich, natural-sounding bass.

Bassline Blue: The REL Bassline Blue is a hybrid Neutrik Speakon cable with a Swiss-made Neutrik Speakon NL4FC connector on one end to connect to a compatible REL powered subwoofer, plus 3-bare wires with high-quality spade lugs on other end to connect to your amplifier or receiver. Beyond optimizing the geometry of the internal layout of the Bassline Blue cable, REL also employs copper that exceeds industry practices and is of a quality and type generally specified for military use and high speed telecommunications.

Natural Drawn Wire: Bassline Blue is constructed of slow-drawn, high purity copper, drawn in a nitrogen bath to minimize impurities on the surface of the wire. Each individual conductor is coated in a Teflon film immediately upon leaving the extrusion die to ensure that impurities cannot impinge on the cable while awaiting further processing. This technique produces a sound that is exceptionally pure and natural which REL has termed "Natural Drawn" wire.
Pure Silver Solder Connection: The REL Bassline Blue cable uses pure silver solder for all connections which ensures not just high quality sound, but also as the cable ages and oxidation sets in, sonic degradation should be nil due to the conductive properties of pure silver.

Note: Available in 9.8' (3M), 19.7' (6M), and 32.8' (10M) lengths.

Connection Options: The Neutrik Speakon NL4FC connector plugs into the Speakon connector on your compatible REL powered subwoofer. The 3-wire hookup will connect to the speaker outputs of your amplifier or receiver. The standard 3-wire hookup involves connecting the red wire to your amplifier's right positive speaker output terminal, connecting the yellow wire to your amp's left positive speaker output terminal, and connecting the black wire to whichever of your amplifier's left or right ground output terminals is convenient.

USA Made: Bassline Blue is hand constructed at REL's California facility using cable produced exclusively to REL's specification by a North American OEM wire and cable house. Construction is quite labor intensive and can require up to one hour per cable.
