Lucas Lighting's Intelligent Decoder for LED headlights can help remedy or avoid these symptoms. This simple plug-and-play solution installs between your vehicle harness and your new light bulb to correct inconsistencies which may affect performance. The following vehicle types typically require an Intelligent Decoder to fix issues with headlight replacement:

German makes and models
Vehicles with pulse-width modulated headlight circuits (Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep/RAM vehicles made after 2007)
Select Toyota models, especially when the high beams are engaged

This Lucas Lighting L-9005/9006DE Intelligent Decoder works with Lucas Lighting 9005, 9006, 9012, H10, and H12 style LED bulbs. It plugs right in between your bulb and vehicle harnesses — Lucas recommends using the mounting tab to ground the chassis of this unit for best performance.

Overview: Lucas Lighting L-Series Decoders are designed to eliminate the problems that can sometimes arise after installing replacement LED headlight bulbs, including dash warning light activation, error codes from your vehicle onboard computer, flickering headlights, and poor radio reception when the headlights are on. This affects many German vehicles, some Toyota high-beam circuits, and any pulse-width modulated headlight circuit, including all Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep/Ram vehicles made after 2007.

Installation: The Lucas Lighting L-Series Decoder simply plugs inline with your vehicle's headlight connector and the headlight socket. Its compact size allows it to be mounted in tight spaces. A mounting tab on the Decoder casing is used for securing it and should be attached to vehicle metal for proper grounding. Two Decoders with attached input/output harnesses are included.
