Before he founded Tributaries in 1991, owner Joe Perfito spent 15 years working for McIntosh Laboratory, Inc. Back then, he says, the concept of designing cables based on sound scientific principles was considered extremely radical. Solid copper conductors for a super-clean signal

This cable uses ultra-pure, highly conductive, oxygen-free copper (HC-OFC) developed specifically for audio applications. Each conductor features solid (rather than stranded) gauge wires that allow for smooth, transparent, distortion-free signal transfer.

Twin-axial design with gold-plated XLR connectors

The Series 4AB cables use a precision-twisted, twin-axial design with dedicated positive and negative conductors of equal impedance — plus dual shielding and gold-plated, solid-brass XLR connectors. That way, you'll get a clean, neutral signal transfer that lets your music come through with clear, uncolored brilliance.

Model 4AB Balanced XLR Cable: The Tributaries Series 4 Model 4AB is a high peformance balanced XLR audio cable that incorporates a host of patented technologies to provide excellent audio signal transfer with low-noise.

High Conductive Oxygen Free Copper (HF-OFC): The Model 4AB balanced audio cable features ultra-pure highly conductive oxygen free copper (HC-OFC) developed specifically for audio applications. The HF-OFC conductors are solid 22AWG gauge to prevent grainy distortion caused by stranded wire.
Twisted Balance Design: The Series 4 XLR audio cable also incorporates a precision twisted balanced design with dedicated conductors having equal impedance for positive and negative signals. The signal conductors are then wrapped with dual-shielding to keep noise from reaching the single path.
High Quality Connectors & Jacket: The Model 4AB balanced audio cable is terminated with gold-plated, solid-brass XLR connectors on each end. To reduce signal hum during connection, the Tributaries Series 4 XLR connectors have the female ground (pin 1) placed forward in the shell so the ground connects first. The Series 4 balanced XLR audio cable also features a decorative woven jack over flexible PVC.
