If your furry best friend pushes the envelope of when it's appropriate to bark but you don't like the idea of using static bark correction collars, try this Audible Bark Collar from PetSafe. It uses SoundBurst™ technology to detect your dog's barking, then emits a sound that resembles the spray of an aerosol can.
Smart bark detection and correction
You don't have to worry about your dog being corrected because of some other dog's bark or a loud noise: dual detection technology only activates the collar when it senses both vibration and sound. When your dog barks, the collar gives the shortest correction sound (1.5 seconds). If the barking continues, the timing will increase gradually through 10 levels — up to four seconds. The idea is that your dog figures out that barking brings on the correction and learns to keep it under control.
Not all barking is bad
Barking is completely natural behavior for a dog, and sometimes that's the best way for your pooch to communicate with you. PetSafe recommends only using the Audible Bark Collar in situations where your dog's barking tends to get out of hand, like outside late at night or greeting houseguests a little too loudly.

Overview: The PetSafe Audible Bark Collar (PBC00-17281) can train your dog to reduce, and eventually stop, nuisance barking. The training collar delivers a sound when your dog barks, distracting him from the object of his attention. The collar can adjust to the frequency of the barking to help your dog learn to associate his barking with the sound of the correction. The collar is waterproof so you can train your dog in any weather or conditions. The 3/4"-wide x 27"-long collar is adjustable to fit dogs 8 pounds and up.
Fitting: For best results, the collar should be fitted and positioned properly on your dog's neck. The sensor should be centered on the front of your dog's neck while he is standing. It should be tightened so that you can fit one finger between the bark sensor and your dog's neck. Any length of strap longer than 2" past the buckle should be trimmed off. To avoid skin irritation, the dog should wear the collar no longer than 12 hours at a time.
Operation: The Audible Bark Collar training module has a bark sensor that rests against your dog's neck that detects the unique sound and vibration of a dog bark. The collar also has a speaker that emits a harmless sound when a bark is detected. The training module is 2.348" wide x 1.443" deep x 1.296" high. The collar and module together weigh 2.6 ounces.
SoundBurst™ Technology: When the training module detects a bark, the collar uses Soundburst Technology to immediately emit a harmless burst of sound that resembles the spray of an aerosol can or the hiss of radio interference. The sensor is designed to trigger corrections only for barking, whining, or whimpering. The corrective sound is at approximately 92 decibels at 4" away.
Temperament Learning: The Audible Bark Collar offers 10 levels of sound stimulation, increasing the duration of the emitted sound from less than 1.5 seconds up to 4 seconds. The volume of the sound stays constant. When your dog barks, he will initially receive the shortest correction sound from the collar. If the barking continues, the duration of the correction will gradually increase through the 10 levels to a maximum of 4 seconds. If your dog stops barking, the level will gradually decrease to the shortest (1.5 sec) duration.
Safety Shutoff: The collar features a Safety Shutoff that automatically turns off the collar for three minutes if your dog barks more than 15 times within an 80 second period.
Reset: The training collar can be reset to its default settings to allow you to place it on another dog.
Power: The Vibration Bark Control collar is powered by a rechargeable Lithium battery with an average battery life of 3 to 6 months. The collar charges via the included proprietary USB cable. Charging of a fully-depleted battery takes approximately five hours. The LED behind the power button will glow green while the battery is charging, and will turn off when it's fully charged.
