Overview: The PetSafe ScoopFree® SmartSpin™ Self-Cleaning Litter Box (PAL00-17985) automatically sifts and disposes of clumps and solid waste. Its rotating action moves the cat litter through a sifter, trapping waste in a sealed, deodorized waste drawer below. The litter box connects to your home's Wi-Fi and has a companion app for adjusting settings and staying informed of your pet's health. The SmartSpin litter box requires assembly, and comes with hardware, a screwdriver, waste drawer deodorizer, waste bin liners, and an AC adapter. Dimension: Width 20.9", Height 26.4", Depth 18.9".

Design: The litter box is a spherical container with a large round opening in front. The sphere base is elevated with four legs, leaving the litter box opening approximately 12" off the floor. The legs have a soft tip to prevent the marring of floor surfaces. The interior of the sphere is smooth to prevent litter from getting caught and built up. If you have a kitten, you should place a box or step in front of the litter box to make it easier for her to get in or out. You should also leave the litter box unplugged and scoop waste manually until the kitten is at least 2.5 pounds and 6 months old. The SmartSpin litter box is designed for cats up to 25 pounds. It is compatible with most all types of cat litter, however, for optimal performance, you should use a premium clumping litter.

Operation: A weight sensor inside the litter box detects when your cat has entered the sphere. The litter box measures the difference in weight and reports your cat's weight in the SmartSpin app. When your cat leaves the litter box the cleaning light will start blinking, indicating the cleaning timer delay countdown has begun. (The delay duration can be changed in the SmartSpin app.) When the countdown is complete, the litter box will slowly rotate 180°. As the sphere rotates, unused litter will fall through the litter sifter and be stored behind the litter saver. Clumped litter and solid waste will remain on top of the litter sifter and be deposited in the waste drawer. The sphere will rotate back to its starting position spreading the unused litter evenly across the bottom of the litter box.

Waste Drawer: The SmartSpin Litter Box includes a 6-liter waste drawer holds up to 2 weeks of clumps and waste. The drawer includes a receptacle for a deodorizer to keep odors in check 4 times better than traditional litter boxes. Two deodorizers (1 month supply) and 3 weeks worth of disposable waste bags are included with the litter box. Sensors in the litter box can alert you when the waste drawer needs to be emptied, and indicate it on the control panel and in the SmartSpin app. You can expect to empty the waste drawer about once a week for one cat, twice a week for two cats, or every few days for three or more cats.

Control Panel: The front panel has a control panel with indicator lights and numeric display with the following functions:

• Wi-Fi Button: The Wi-Fi button enters pairing mode when pressed and held for three seconds.
• Wi-Fi Light: The Wi-Fi light glows solid white when the unit is connected to Wi-Fi, or blinks white when not connected.
• Cleaning Button: The Cleaning button starts a manual cleaning cycle when pressed for 1 second. You can pause and resume the cleaning cycle by pressing the button again. The Cleaning button can initiate the Add Litter mode when pressed for 3 seconds. After adding clean litter to the litter box, pressing the Cleaning button again exits Add Litter Mode and recalibrates the current weight of the litter.
• Cleaning Light: The Cleaning Light glows solid white during the cleaning cycle, and blinks white when the cleaning cycle countdown has been initiated.
• Cat Entry Light: The Cat Entry Light will glow solid white when a weight change of more than 2.5 pounds has been detected. This equates to the cat entering or exiting the litter box. The light stays off when no change is detected.
• Waste Drawer Full Light: The Waste Drawer Full Light glows solid white when the waste drawer is full.
• Numeric Status Display: The single character display provides information about the litter box operating mode:
  • A: Add Litter Mode enabled
  • L: Child Lock enabled
  • P: Sleep Mode enabled -- will not run a cleaning cycle in this mode
  • 1: Infrared sensor in the base is blocked.
  • 2: Cover not installed
  • 3: Abnormal motor current
  • 4: Sphere not installed

Power: The SmartSpin is powered by the included AC adapter. The adapter has a 58" cord.

Wi-Fi: The ScoopFree SmartSpin Self-Cleaning Litter Box can connect to your home's Wi-Fi network on the 2.4 GHz band.

Companion App: The PetSafe SmartSpin Litter Box App (iOS 11.0+, Android 6.0+) helps you to get the most out of your litter box. From your smartphone or tablet, you can monitor your cat's health through weight tracking and litter box usage. The app provides real-time updates and alerts, including the number of times the litter box has been used and when the waste bin needs to be emptied. The app lets you lock the litter box, view its current status, change the clean delay time, or start a manual cleaning.
