Product Research

Toslink Fiber Optical Output Add-on Module: The APA-TOS1 is a fiber-optic audio output add-on module for use with PAC AmpPRO advanced amplifier interfaces (sold separately). The APA-TOS1 quickly and easily installs inside a AmpPRO interface and provides a digital toslink output. Connect any brand and length of toslink fiber-optic cable (not included), so you can connect a toslink equipped DSP or amplifier into your vehicle.

  • Quick and easy installation into any AmpPRO interface.
  • Provides a digital fiber-optic variable audio signal output (up to 2ch).
  • Compatible with toslink equipped DSPs or Amplifiers.
  • Digital audio signals are less susceptible to noise or interference.
Note: The APA-TOS1 must be used in conjunction with a PAC AmpPRO advanced amplifier interface (sold separately). No toslink fiber-optic cable is included and must be purchased separately.

Customer Q&A

4 questions already asked

For the optional digital stereo Toslink out: Is this a fading (e.g. front) output or a non-fading output? The manual does not specify. Thanks.

I would be happy to help, Jeff. The PAC APA-TOS1 must be used in conjunction with a PAC AmpPRO advanced amplifier interface (sold separately). Since this adds a 2-channel digital output, it is non-fading.

Any idea what the bit depth and sample rate is for the Toslink output?

This will send the audio quality that is is given. When using a factory CD/radio. The highest you will get is CD quality, so 16 bit/44.1 kHz.

How come the stereo shops don't sell you this from the get-go? they keep telling me I have a weak signal and I need to put a new deck in. I have already bought a bigger amp and it still hasn't fixed the problem. Now they're telling me I need to put in new door speakers in with a 4 channel amp. Sounds like they're really sticking it to me.

Will I still need to have a line out converter. Wanting to add 4 channel amp. And also mono amp replacing all factory speaker and sub?

When using a compatible PAC AmpPRO Amplifier Replacement Interface, no, you do not need to use a separate line output converter: For additional assistance and personalized recommendations, feel free to contact us directly by phone or through our online chat service:
