Waterproof & Dustproof: The Defender portable Bluetooth speaker is both water and dust proof thanks to its IP67 certification. The IP67 rating means the speaker can withstand submersion in water up to 1m for 30 minutes, plus is completely protected dust ingress. The Defender can even float and comes with rugged integrated carry handles that make it easy to take the speaker system with you. In addition, it has a built-in bottle opener.

• For the speaker system to be fully water and dust proof (IP67), make sure the cap on the back is installed and covering the power, Aux, USB, and Mic connections.
• The Defender should not be exposed to water and dust, while its battery is being charged, powered via AC, using the USB-C port to charge another device, have Aux device connected, or using an external mic.

2-Way Speaker System: The Defender portable Bluetooth speaker employs a 2-way driver design featuring a 1.7' titanium dome and a 6"x9" polypropylene/carbon-fiber cone woofer powered by a 100 watt (peak) Texas Instruments amplifier for dynamic, well-balanced sound. The amplifier utilizes an integrated 24-bit DSP (digital signal processor) engine to provide great sounding music indoors and outdoors.

• 3 EQ Settings: You can customize the sound of The Defender for practically any environment with indoor, outdoor, default EQ modes. The Indoor setting has a warm acoustic sound, while the Outdoor setting boosts high frequencies and cuts bass output. The default setting boosts both high frequencies and bass output.
• EcoCast: EcoCast lets you link up to 100 Ecoxgear and SoundExtreme EcoCast-enabled speakers, soundbars, and subs together via Bluetooth with a range of about 30' between each speaker. If you have two Defenders, you can create a wireless stereo pair with one speaker assigned to the left channel and the other speaker assigned to the right channel.

Bluetooth 5.1: The Defender features built-in Bluetooth 5.1 with support for wireless audio streaming (A2DP) and control (AVRCP), plus hands-free communication (HFP) and digital voice assistance through its built-in microphone. You can pair multiple device with The Defender speaker system and keep two devices connected at the same time. The Defender has an extended Bluetooth wireless range of approximately 100'.

• Wireless Audio Streaming: Thanks to its built-in Bluetooth, you can wirelessly steam stored music, music apps, and other audio content from your Bluetooth-enabled smartphone, table, laptop, or computer to The Defender speaker system. You'll also be able to operate basic playback controls (such as Play/Pause and Previous/Next Track) from the speaker's top-panel buttons. There is no display for song/artist/album information.
• Hands-Free Communication: Hands-free communication is made possible through the speaker's built-in microphone. You can answer or end a call using the speaker's top-panel controls. You can also dial a number using the built-in microphone and your voice. Use the built-in microphone to carry on your side of the conversation, while the other party is heard through The Defender's 2-way speaker system.
• Digital Voice Assistance: You can access Siri for iPhone and Google Assistant for Android on your Bluetooth-connected smartphone or tablet through The Defender. Simply press-and-hold the Play/Pause button to activate the compatible voice assistant and then use the speaker's built-in mic for your voice commands. In addition to asking Siri or Google to dial a phone number, you can use the digital voice assistance feature to access online music services, control smarthome devices, tell the weather, and more.

SoundExtreme App: The SoundExtreme app (for Apple iOS and Android OS) allows controls of the speaker system's built-in RGB LEDs, as well as the ability to link or LEDCast products. The app also lets you adjust the speaker's built-in flashlight. Your compatible Apple iOS or Android OS device must be connected to The Defender wirelessly via Bluetooth.

• LEDCast: There are built-in RGB LED lights behind the woofer that you can customize from the app. You can customize LED color & brightness, patterns & speeds, as well as setup music sync and LED chasing. You can even use the app to link up to 4 LEDCast products to expand your light show. See the User Guide for specific details.
• Flashlight: The speaker system also features a built-in flashlight that can be controlled from the SoundExtreme app. You can choose from 3 brightness level settings (high, mid, and low). You can also set a timer to automatically turn the flashlight off at a desired time.

Wired Inputs: In addition to wireless Bluetooth connectivity, The Defender speaker system offers a 3.5mm Aux input and a 1/4" Mic Jack.

• Aux Input: The Defender speaker is outfitted with a 3.5mm Aux input for a wired connection to an external audio source device.
• Mic Jack: A 1/4" jack allows you to add an external microphone, so you can sing along to your music. You can even add reverberation and echo effects to your voice.

USB-C Charging Port: A USB-C port (5V/2.1A) allows you to charge your smartphone or tablet device.

AC or Battery Powered: The Defender can be powered via its built-in battery or via AC. The built-in battery provides up to 25 hours of playback time at normal listening volume and can be recharged using the included AC power adapter. You can continue to use the speaker via AC power, while the battery is recharging. It takes approximately 5-6 hours to fully charge the battery. There are five LED Battery Level Indicators located on the top of the unit. Each green LED represents 20% of a charge. Five full LEDs indicate a full charge.

• The rechargeable battery is rated at 79.96Wh @ 14.8V/5400mA.
• Battery playback time will vary based on volume level and listening content. At maximum volume, the battery can only last up to 6 hours.
• Only use the included power adapter to charge and power The Defender speaker system. Do not charge The Defender with any another power adapter, as this may damage the unit and will void the warranty.

Backlit Controls: When any of The Defender's top-panel buttons are pressed the backlights will turn on to illuminate for night use. You can set the backlights to stay on all the time when the speaker system is turned on. Push-button controls include Power On/Off, Source Select, Volume Up/Down, Play/Pause, Previous/Next Track, Bluetooth Pair, EcoCast Pairing, Voice Assistance, Mic Up/Down, LEDCast, & Flashlight.
