Bundle Overview

Overview: The Garmin 2-Screen Panoptix Bundle is designed for the serious fisherman (and fisherwoman) to optimize your ability to haul in a boatload of fish. This bundle features two 9" chartplotters to help you locate your favorite spot, a Panoptix LiveScope scanning sonar system, and two additional transducers (one transom-mount and one in-hull mount) for finding where the big ones are, and the cabling you need to connect them all. The bundle includes the following:

ECHOMAP UHD 93sv Features

Overview: The Garmin ECHOMAP UHD 93sv (Garmin item #010-02342-00) is a chartplotter, preloaded with Garmin's exclusive LakeVü g3 inland maps with integrated Navionics® data and Auto Guidance technology. In addition, a built-in microSD slot lets you add more specialized and detailed charts and maps that are available from Garmin. The ECHOMAP UHD 93sv has a 9.0" (diagonal) full color touchscreen display that can be mounted in a variety of ways. The unit has a water rating of IPX7, and can withstand being splashed with water without worry, but unsuitable for prolonged immersion.

Display: The ECHOMAP UHD 93sv has a 7.8" (wide) x 4.8" (high), 9.0" diagonal full color touchscreen WVGA display with 400 x 800 pixels. It has a variable backlight adjustment (automatic or manual), with day and night color schemes that change automatically or you can set manually. With the large display, you can create custom combination pages with up to several different functions on the display at once. Display overall dimensions: Width 10.363", Height 6.478", Depth 1.84".

Keypad: In addition to touchscreen controls, the ECHOMAP UHD 93sv features several buttons for operating the device. The keypad consists of a power button, a plus/minus control for zooming in and out of a chart or view, and shortcut keys, numbered 1-4, that can be assigned to an active screen so you can open it instantly when pressed.

Global Positioning System: The ECHOMAP UHD 93sv has a built-in GPS receiver that collects data from overhead satellites to establish your current location. The GPS signal strength is indicated on the top of the screen in a bar graph (5 bars maximum). The device is equipped with a 5 Hz GPS receiver which refreshes its position and heading 5 times per second. In addition, the unit coordinates the timing of the sonar return in relation to the boat's position to give you amazingly accurate waypoints or for pinpointing fishing hotspots.

Charts and Maps: The unit is preloaded with Garmin's LakeVü g3 maps, with coverage of more than 17,000 inland lakes with up to 1' contours and Depth Range Shading for clearer lake floor view, and enabling you to view your target depth at a glance. Additional maps are available on microSD or download.

Quickdraw Contours: The ECHOMAP UHD 93sv features Quickdraw Contours software already installed on the device. This free software allows you to tailor the preloaded maps and create your own maps on the screen. While you fish, Quickdraw Contours creates the maps based on the sonar results from an attached compatible transducer. Compatible transducers include any Garmin Panoptix, HD-ID, DownVü, ClearVü or NMEA 2000-compatible. If you are using more than one transducer, you can choose which sonar device gives you the best results.

Mounting Options: The 93sv consists of a display/control unit and a tilting bail mount with a quick release feature. When you come off the water, just disconnect the display/control unit from the bail mount and go. No plugging or unplugging wires from the unit itself, as the cables plug into the quick-disconnect bail mount. You can also flush-mount the display/control unit into your dashboard. A flush-mount template helps you make the cut into the mounting location. A self-adhesive rubber gasket is provided for flush-mount applications. A snap-on cover protects the display/control unit when you're not on the water.

NMEA 2000: The ECHOMAP UHD 93sv can be connected to an NMEA 2000 network which can carry power and data along the same cable. If your vessel has an existing NMEA 2000 network, it should already be connected to power. The device can share data from other NMEA 2000 devices, such as sensors or a VHF radio, plus you may also be able to view fuel and engine data on the display. The necessary cables and connectors are sold separately.

Wi-Fi: The unit has built-in Wi-Fi that allows you to connect to the free Garmin ActiveCaptain app on your mobile device. ActiveCaptain has a OneChart feature for accessing and updating all of your charts and maps from your smartphone or tablet, as well as purchase new ones to use on the chartplotter. You can also receive notifications of phone calls and texts on the unit's display. ActiveCaptain also lets you keep in touch with fellow boaters to get first-hand information about points of interest near your route or destination. Separate ActiveCaptain and Mobile Quickdraw communities are available for feedback or for sharing your Quickdraw Contours data. The Garmin ActiveCaptain app is compatible with devices running Android 5.0 and up, or Apple iOS 11.0 or later.

Chart Views: The ECHOMAP UHD 93sv has LakeVü g3 inland maps pre-loaded into its memory. The Navigation Chart view shows the navigation data on the included maps with details including buoys, lights, cables, depth soundings, marinas, and tide stations in an overhead view. With optional premium charts, you can get a Fishing Chart view or several 3D views, including Perspective 3D, Mariner's Eye 3D, Fish Eye 3D, and Relief Shading.

Auto Guidance: The pre-loaded maps are integrated with Navionics® data and Auto Guidance technology to help you navigate to your destination. After you enter your desired destination, Auto Guidance scans your chart data, such as water depth and known obstacles, and uses your desired depth and overhead clearance to calculate a suggested path. You can manually adjust the path during navigation, if desired.

Note: Auto Guidance is designed for planning purposes only, and should not replace safe navigation operations.

Waypoints: You can mark and save up to 5000 waypoints into the unit's memory. Waypoints can be marked at your present location, or you can enter the coordinates to a waypoint at a different location. Each waypoint can be saved with a name, symbol, depth, and comments. Once a waypoint has been saved, you can select and navigate to its location. You can also measure the distance to the waypoint on the Waypoint Map.

Routes: A route is a sequence of waypoints or locations that leads you to your final destination. You can create and immediately navigate a route on the Navigation chart or the Fishing chart, or create a route by putting together a series of waypoints and turns. Up to 100 routes can be created and saved in the device.

Tracks: A track is a recording of the current path of your boat. You can designate a color for each track to differentiate them from each other. Tracks are created by automatically marking the current location at a set interval. The interval can be adjusted--recording more frequent plots increases accuracy, but fills up the track log quicker. You can also record tracks by the distance between points, or the variance from your course. You can log and save up to 50 tracks with 50,000 points.

Boundaries: Boundaries allow you to remain in or avoid designated areas in a body of water. You can set up an alarm to alert you when you enter or exit a boundary. Boundaries can be areas, lines, or circles on the map. Saved tracks and routes can also be converted into boundary lines.

Other Available Data: The ECHOMAP UHD 93sv lets you view data on tides, currents, and celestial conditions for a specifice date and time:

• Tide Station Info: You can view tide height, and the times when the next high and low tides will occur.
• Current Station Info: You can view current speed and the level of the current.
• Celestial Info: Information regarding sunrise, sunset, moonrise, moonset, moon phase, and the approximate sky view location of the sun and moon can be viewed on the screen.

Panoptix LiveScope System

Overview: The Garmin Panoptix LiveScope System (Garmin item #010-01864-00) is an add-on sonar transducer for select GPSMAP and ECHOMAP Plus chartplotters. The system consists of the LVS32 LiveScope Sonar Transducer and the GLS 10 Sonar Module. The slim-profile transducer is designed to install on a trolling motor, on the trolling motor shaft, on on the transom to help you see live images of what is happening under the water beneath your boat, up to 200 feet away. The LiveScope system utilizes AHRS (Attitude Heading Reference System) to stabilize the sonar view on your chartplotter's screen, even in rough conditions. The LVS32 offers two Panoptix LiveScope modes--Forward and Down. It comes with 20 feet of cable, and mounting brackets for motor, shaft, or transom installation. The Sonar Module provides power to the transducer, and sonar signals to your chartplotter.

Panoptix LiveScope Sonar: Panoptix LiveScope sonar gives you a real-time, realistic view of what's in the water around or under your boat. Panoptix LiveScope sonar is effective whether your boat is moving or stationary. Other types of sonar require your boat to be moving, and show images of fish you have already passed over. Panoptix LiveScope sonar has a narrow 20° beam angle for crisp, improved resolution and clear images, out to 200 feet. The LVS32 offers the choice of two LiveScope options:

• LiveScope Forward: LiveScope Forward lets you see structure and fish ahead and around your boat. You can also see your lure, and how fish react to your lure. When the transducer is mounted for LiveScope Forward mode, it should be angled forward and slightly downward.
• LiveScope Down: LiveScope Down shows moving sonar images below your boat, and allows you to pinpoint your targets' distance left or right and their depths. It is recommended for vertical fishing and jigging. For LiveScope Down mode, the transducer is mounted facing straight down.

Mounting Options: The Panoptix LiveScope system comes with the hardware for mounting the transducer in a variety of ways. It can be mounted to either the starboard or port side, with a forward or downward view. The available mounting methods are as follows:

• Trolling Motor Mount: The Trolling Motor mount provides the maximum unobstructed view of the sonar beam. The mount includes a hose clamp and bracket for installing the transducer directly to the side of trolling motor. This is the preferred mounting method for the LiveScope Down mode, or if you plan to switch between the forward and down modes.
• Trolling Motor Shaft Mount: Mounting the transducer to the trolling motor shaft is the preferred method for the LiveScope Forward mode. It provides maximum separation between the motor and the transducer, which optimizes the performance of the magnetic compass function. The trolling motor shaft bracket features an 8° cant to reduce the effects of the trolling motor barrel interference with the transducer beam.
• Transom Mount: Brackets are included for mounting the transducer to the transom. Care should be taken when mounting the brackets on fiberglass with screws to avoid cracking the gel-coat layer when tightening the screws.

LiveScope GLS 10 Module: The LiveScope GLS 10 sonar "black box" can be mounted horizontally or vertically to any flat surface. Four "keyhole" slots are provided to secure the module to the mounting surface. It features four connections across the front panel: ground, power (2-pin threaded connection / connects to battery and ground), Network (threaded 9-pin connection / connects to chartplotter), and Transducer (threaded 21-pin connection / connects to transducer). The GLS 10 has a status LED to inform you of its current conditions. The LED flashes green to indicate proper connection and operation, and orange during software updates. Red flashes indicate some type of failure, either by an incorrect connection, excessive input voltage, or other sonar failure.

Software Update: Before installing the Panoptix LiveScope system to your chartplotter, you may need to update your device's software. New chartplotter software is available on the Garmin website. If the chartplotter has Wi-Fi technology, you can update the software using the ActiveCaptain app (available for Android or Apple iOS devices). If it doesn't have Wi-Fi, you can download the new software to a memory card, or request a preloaded software memory card from Garmin support. Follow the instructions for updating the software for your device.

Compass Calibration: If you wish to use the magnetic compass feature, you must mount the transducer on the trolling motor shaft, and not on the motor itself to avoid magnetic interference. Once you have installed the transducer, you will need calibrate the compass. Failure to do so may cause errors in your boat's position and heading, and may prevent some map features to be unavailable. You should follow the procedure for calibrating the sonar on your chartplotter.

Maintenance: From time to time, you may need to clean the transducer if aquatic growth affects the device's performance. It can be cleaned with a soft cloth and mild detergent. For severe growth, you can use a scouring pad or putty knife to remove it.

GT34UHD-TM Features

Overview: The 500-watt Garmin GT34UHD-TM Ultra High-Definition scanning sonar transducer (Garmin item #010-12776-00) provides high resolution ClearVü and SideVü scanning sonar images with remarkably clear target separation and definition. You can view incredibly detailed images of fish and structure up to 200' below your boat with 800kHz ClearVü sonar. The 1200kHz SideVü sonar gives you views out to 125' to each side (250' total) at a maximum depth of 30 feet. It also transmits depth and temperature data to your display. The GT34UHD-TM comes with both transom and trolling motor mounts, and has a 20' attached cable with a 12-pin connector.

CHIRP Sonar: Compared to standard sonar, which sends one frequency at a time, CHIRP (Compressed High-Intensity Radiated Pulse) sends a continuous sweep of frequencies within a range from low to high. As a result, CHIRP sonar creates much greater target separation and crisper fish arches. Traditional sonar transducers emit a conical beam, while ClearVü sonar casts two narrow beams, similar to that of a copying machine.

GT8HW-IH Features

Overview: The Garmin GT8HW-IH (Garmin item #010-12401-10) is an in-hull mount sonar transducer. This 8-pin transducer has high-wide CHIRP traditional sonar (145-230kHz) and a 250-watt power rating. You can mount it in a flat section (less than 6° rise) inside a fiberglass hull to avoid cavitation issues common with transom-mounted transducers. It is an excellent way to maintain accurate depth readings in boats travelling at high speeds. With the Garmin Y-cable (010-12445-33), included in this bundle, you can use the GT34UHD-TM transom-mount transducer with the GT9HW-IH in-hull transducer to get depth readings at high speeds and scanning at trolling speeds. The GT8HW-IH has an attached 20' cable with a blue 8-pin connector, and an adhesive-backed foam in-hull fitting.

GMS 10 Network Port Expander Features

Overview: The Garmin Marine Network is a high-speed data system that lets you connect multiple components and sensors together aboard your vessel. This fast network is anchored by compatible GPSMAP chartplotters with built-in network links. Network-compatible components include GPS units, detailed charts, radar, sonar, satellite weather receivers, and other sensors. This GMS 10 Network Port Expander (Garmin item #010-00351-00) lets you share data between multiple sensor and multiple chartplotters. The switch operates at a blazing 100-megabits to give you Ethernet-like data transfer speeds for a robust network. Each multi-function display (MFD) can be independently configured with customizable pages. Installing multiple MFDs makes it easier to access the network from anywhere on your boat. The GMS 10 has five RJ-45 network ports, each with a waterproof cap, and comes with a 6' Marine Network cable. The Expander is powered by the included 7-foot, 7-pin cable (10-35 volts DC). The unit is 11.841" x 2.267" x 4.168", and weighs 19.75 ounces.

Multiple Connections: The GMS 10 makes it easy to expand your network. Most chartplotters have two network ports, so if you need to connect more network devices, or additional chartplotters, the Network Port Expander is the solution. Using two Expanders allow connection and data sharing between even more sensors and chartplotters.

LED Indicator Lights: Above each network port are three LED indicator lights:

• LNK/ACT: When the light is lit solid, a link has been established between the Expander and the attached device. A flashing light indicates the presesnce of network activity.
• DUP/COL: When the light is lit solid, the attached device is operating at full network capacity. When the light is off or flashing, the device is operating at half capacity.
• 100: When the light is on, the network is running at 100 megabits per second. Off means it it running at 10 megabits per second.

Network Cables: The Garmin Marine Network cables allow you to connect the chartplotters and sensors on your vessel to the Port Expander. The cables feature marine-construction capable of withstanding harsh conditions. Both ends of the cable are equipped with water-resistant RJ-45 Ethernet connectors, complete with protective collars and gaskets. A 1.25" diameter grommet is included for passing the cable through walls. Additional cables are available in 6' and 20' lengths.

20' Marine Network Cable

Overview: The Garmin Marine Network cable (Garmin item #010-10551-00) allow you to connect multiple chartplotters and sensors on your vessel. You can add accessories anywhere you need them. This 20' cable features marine-construction capable of withstanding harsh conditions. Both ends of the cable feature water-resistant RJ-45 Ethernet connectors, complete with protective collars and gaskets. A 1.25" diameter grommet is included for passing the cable through walls.

Perspective Mode Mount

Overview: The Garmin Perspective Mode Mount (Garmin item #010-12970-00) works with the Panoptix LiveScope scanning sonar system to add an overhead (or perspective) sonar view to the down and forward views provided by the LVS32 transducer. The overhead view works well for scouting and fishing in shallow water. The mount lets you easily switch between the three views, while your chartplotter automatically detects which mode you're in (Note: Auto-detection is not a feature on all chartplotters). The Perspective Mode Mount comes with the hardware necessary to mount the transducer, whether you prefer it on the port or starboard side of the trolling motor shaft. A 5mm hex wrench is included to tighten the bolts during installation. Dimensions: Width 2.342", Height 3.554", Depth 6.002".

Software Update Required: When you install the Perspective Mode Mount, you must update the software on the Garmin chartplotter and the LiveScope system. You can update the chartplotter via Wi-Fi, using the ActiveCaptain app on a compatible Android or Apple device. If you don't have Wi-Fi, you can use your Windows or Mac computer to load the software onto an SD (or microSD) card, whichever card your chartplotter accepts.

Installation: The Perspective Mode Mount comes with extension arms marked with "P" or "S" for mounting the transducer on the port or starboard side of the trolling motor shaft. The shaft bracket fits standard sized shafts. If mounting to a 1" diameter shaft, you should use the included rubber insert for a non-slip fit. The included stickers are to be attached to the LiveScope's LVS32 transducer -- one sticker is for mounts on the port side and the other is for starboard side mounts. Once the LVS32 is attached to the mount, you can position the transducer for Perspective (overhead), Down, or Forward view, whichever one you believe works best for the fishing location. The position of the extension arm corresponds with the marks on the sticker for the chosen view. A compatible chartplotter should be able to automatically detect the view you have chosen.

Fiberglass Boat Adapter Cable

Overview: The Garmin Fiberglass Boat Adapter Cable (Garmin item #010-12445-33) is a Y-cable that lets you connect the Garmin GT34 transom-mount scanning transducer and the GT8HW-IH in-hull mount traditional transducer to the Garmin chartplotter. The cable lets the chartplotter continue to display water depth from the in-hull transducer when the transom-mount transducer loses its depth reading. Overall length is 31"

Connections: The Y-cable has a 12-pin female (orange) connector, which connects to the transducer (12 PIN XDCR) input on the chartplotter. It has a threaded collar to securely connect the cable to the chartplotter's threaded input. The other end of the cable has two connectors: a 12-pin male (orange) connector for the GT30 transom-mount transducer, and an 8-pin male (blue) connector for the GT8HW-IH in-hull mount transducer. Both connectors are threaded to accept the threaded collar from the transducer cable for a secure connection.
