Better, overall
Whit from Bellows Falls, VT on 5/12/2025
This is far more sophisticated equipment than equivalent Sonos devices. There's a little less bass out of the Home 250 than a Sonos Five, but far better fidelity especially in midrange and highs, and harmonic details. The 150s compare favorably to the old Sonos Play:3 we had, while being more compact. Plus, the HEOS app works cleanly (while the Sonos app was regularly losing connections to the hardware)! The only glitch was on the initial account setup with Denon, which needed to be run through twice to fully take effect -- a problem with their website rather than the app, it looks like.
Pros: Clarity and expression.
Cons: If you want unnaturally boosted bass, these aren't for you.

Denon Home 250 (Single) and Home 150 (Pair)
Kevin from Cincinnati, OH on 5/12/2025
I love them. The one improvement needed is an app that is a little more real world friendly. I find it a bit "klunky" in the way you have to perform different functions.
Pros: Every aspect except some app features
Cons: Some app features

Denon Home 250 (Single) and Home 150 (Pair)
Scott from Readstown, WI on 2/24/2025
Overall sounds is good, decent bass and hi end is crisp enough. Sound is great if you play all 3 speakers through TIDAL connect. Sometimes the connectivity is a little clunky switching from the HEOS app to just using BT. Instructions do not always mirror reality in the app, which is irritating at times. I am able to use my blue tooth turntable and connect wirelessly to all 3 speakers, which is what I was after.

Great system using wifi/bluetooth
Duane from Pawleys Island, SC on 12/9/2024
Great system for wifi/Bluetooth use. This Denon system is exactly what I was looking for! I wanted a way to play music throughout my house. This let me do exactly that. The HEOS app to setup and control the speakers was really simple and intuitive! I use Android and wife likes her apple. Doesn't matter we can run whatever music we want, wherever we want. The 250 carries enough sound for a large family room/ dining room. With the 150s I have in the bedroom and in the den. For smaller venues the 150 carry good sound. No more wires strewn throughout the house. This system offers the flexibility I was looking for.
Pros: Wireless, HEOS app easy to use, good sound, multiple music sources allowed, Bluetooth to phone was easy, can group or separate speakers.
Cons: connecting to a computer was not intuitive

Fine-sounding flexible whole-house audio.
Mark from Portland, OR on 2/26/2023
This Denon Home 250 with two 150 speakers set completes a nine-speaker whole-house Denon set-up. I value the combination of flexibility and audio fidelity of Denon's HEOS system. I have all three speakers in the line (150, 250 and 350) so here's some advice based on my experience: Setup: Start by setting each speaker to the following settings: Quality: high Treble: +5 Bass: + 4 Position setting: corner/wall You can back off from any of these settings to fine-tune the sound. Placement: These speakers sound best angled out from a corner at about hip or chest high from the floor. The sonics of small speakers such as these are positionally sensitive, varying from "meh" to "wow!" depending where they're placed. So, it pays to try them out in different spots in a room to discover the best sound balance. Stability: They need strong, fast WIFI to work well. Each speaker consumes about 4 Mbps of bandwidth at the high-quality setting. (My 9-speaker set-up uses about 36 Mbps.) Use your phone to confirm a strong WIFI signal at the spot you want to place the speaker. Reducing the quality setting to "Normal" makes the speaker more tolerant of weak WIFI. Still, any glitch in your router may cause the speaker to lose touch with the HEOS app. In that case, unplug the speaker, pause, then plug it in again to force it to resync.
Pros: Great sound and easy-to use app. Easy to configure into a whole-house system or into stereo pairs. Denon keeps updating and adding new features.
Cons: No MQA decoding for Tidal. No direct link to Apple Music (although you can Bluetooth to these speakers from any phone or laptop or use Airplay from Apple-compatible devices).
