Woofer Features
\r\n
Shallow Mount Woofer: Pioneer's "Shallow-Mount" subwoofers \r\nare designed to provide wider installation options for a broad range of \r\nvehicles. They can be mounted behind or under the seats of many vehicles. \r\nAlthough they have a compact design, these woofers still deliver the same \r\nbig-bass performance of a full-size subwoofer.

Double Cone: The subwoofer features an interlaced \r\nBasalt/Carbon Fiber reinforced IMPP (injection molded polypropylene) double-cone \r\nwoofer. The volcanic-rock fibers create a cone that is lightweight, rigid, well \r\ndamped, stable in temperature extremes, and more environmentally friendly.

Surround: The double cones use a dual three-layer, \r\nfiber-woven, "M"-shaped radial surround to attach to the basket and form the Air \r\nSuspension System. This design keeps the voice coil centered, even under high \r\npower, for clear and powerful bass.

Air Suspension System: Typical subwoofers use a spider to \r\ncontrol the woofer cone's excursion. The Air Suspension System, formed by \r\ncreating a sealed air space between the double cones, effectively replaces the \r\nspider, providing superior design and performance characteristics. It provides \r\nexcellent linearity and clear bass with low distortion.

Voice Coil: The TS-SW1201S2 has a 3" aluminum, 6-layer long \r\nvoice coil wound onto a Phenol Resin Coated Glass Cloth bobbin. This design \r\nhigher efficiency and sensitivity than conventional designs to provide powerful, \r\ntight bass.
\r\n
Magnet: The woofer has a high-power, 72-ounce strontium \r\nmagnet.
\r\n
Basket: The woofer has a one-piece, die-cast aluminum \r\nbasket. The basket utilizes its rigid spokes to hold the top and bottom sides of \r\nthe motor structure securely, effectively minimizing any undesired output loss.

Pole Yoke Design: The woofer's vented and projected pole \r\nyoke design allows for better heat dissipation, increased power handling and \r\ngreatly improved linearity during large excursions by expanding the magnetic \r\nfield.

Speaker Terminals: The TS-SW1201S2 has two laterally-mounted \r\nspring-loaded silver binding post terminals, mounted on opposite sides of the \r\nspeaker. The terminals are recessed so they do not take up additional space. The \r\nterminals can accept bare wire up to 10 gauge, pin connectors, and single banana \r\nplugs.

Enclosure Features

Materials: The box is constructed of 3/4" MDF (medium-density fiberboard). MDF resists flexing and has\r\nanti-resonant qualities.
\r\n
Design: Complementing the shallow subwoofer, this \r\nenclosure provides the optimum sealed box volume for truly \r\nfull-size woofer performance. Designed to take up a minimum \r\nof space, the enclosure fits neatly behind the rear seat of \r\nmany pickup trucks or in the cargo area of an SUV. The \r\nhigh-quality construction features sturdy 3/4" MDF and \r\nincludes internal bracing for strength and bass clarity. The \r\nexterior is black auto upholstery with a star-graphite \r\nthermofoil front panel. Heavy-duty gold binding posts make \r\nconnection a snap.

Terminals: The spring post wire terminals, located on the right side of the enclosure, will accept bare wire \r\n(up to 10 gauge), pin connectors, banana plugs, and dual banana plugs.

Subwoofer Warranty: The Pioneer Premier TS-SW1201S2 has a 3-year \r\n\tparts and labor warranty when installed by a Pioneer Premier dealer. Pioneer \r\n\thas extended this same warranty to customers who purchase the woofer from \r\n\tCrutchfield.
\r\n\t
Enclosure Warranty: The UD-SW12B enclosure has a 1-year parts and \r\n\tlabor warranty.

Installation Recommendations
\r\n
Mounting Hardware: The subwoofer comes with 8 self-tapping \r\nscrews (5mm x 30mm) for mounting the woofer to the enclosure. However, speaker \r\nwire to connect the subwoofer to the enclosure's terminal, and to connect the \r\nenclosure to the amplifier is not included. Female quick slides are recommended \r\nfor the terminal on the inside of the enclosure, while pin connectors, banana \r\nplugs, or dual banana plugs are recommended for the outside of the enclosure.

Optional Brackets: The optional UD-SB1 mounting straps (item \r\n# 130UDSB1) are recommended to keep the enclosure secure.
