Excellent quality

I bought this 16 gauge AudioQuest speaker cable to replace my 30 year old 16 gauge speaker cable. I really didn't know if there would be any difference in the sound. I think that bass response is slightly better with the new Audio Quest cables. I don't know if this is because the individual strands in the AudioQuest cable are thicker. There are fewer strands in the cable but they are significantly larger in diameter than other cables. They could improve the markings on the outer insulation though. One side does have a stripe along the length but there's not much contrast. The insulation is dark gray in color and the stripe is medium gray. You have look carefully when making connections. Also, the cables are direction and have arrows but the arrows are really small.

It's good solid speaker wire with a good design (as described by AudioQuest - no easy way to verify as an individual user). Yes, I'm quite happy and I'd use the AudioQuest G2 speaker cable again, and unless you are going for the absolute high-end in audio, you should use these cables too.

An all-around solid upgrade.

I bought this wire because I needed something nice and sturdy for fitting into some pesky spring clip terminals. I didn't expect any sort of leap in sound quality from my Crutchfield speaker wire, but I was wrong! I immediately heard my speakers giving nice, clean bass where there hadn't been before. I was skeptical of those who say your speaker wire can make a huge difference, but this definitely ain't snake oil! A bit more on the pricy side, yes, but you get what you pay for.

Makes a difference in installation

I can't speak to whether the sound quality improves with this speaker cable, but I can confidently say that set up was easier with this wire over cheaper wire. The audio quest cable contains a relatively thick copper filament on the inside, which means that you experience less fraying and splitting when trying to thread the cable through the jacks on the back of your receiver. I used the cheaper Crutchfield-brand 16 gauge cable side by side with the audio quest cable during the set-up of my bi-amped 5.1 set-up, and the audio quest cable was more user-friendly by far. It's true that the white color of the cable is a little distracting compared to the translucent variety of other brands.

This AudioQuest G2 speaker cable is a great value. The sound quality is top notch and fir the shorter run I have it is perfect. I have to say the customer service I received from Crutchfield made all the difference. Travis looked up my Marantz receiver and talked me through bi-amping my B&W CM6 S2 speakers in my office. His advice was spot on! I will be upgrading my movie room OLED TV soon to a 77" Master Series Sony ftom a older EF9500 LG TV and will definitely buy from Cruthchfield!

I've used whatever "looked" good speaker wire for decades. Never given much thought to it. AND always thought bigger was better. Peyton (Crutchfield) advisor recommended not "bigger" but rather "better". I bought this Audioquest G2 to power 4 Klipsch speakers and WOW what a difference. I feel like I have new speakers! This speaker wire is unlike any other wire that I have ever used or seen. There really is a difference you can feel (individual wire strands are thicker and fewer as compared to common 16AWG wires). This makes it easy to install banana connectors. Sound quality is awesome. My only regret is that I didn't research and do this years ago.

I like the wire. Seems to be high quality and a colored stripe makes it easy to install them the same way on the receiver and the speaker. But it comes wound and when you unwind it, it doesn't straighten out. That results in having to use a longer length of wire than you would need if the wire were straight.

The wires contain high quality copper that is easy to work with. The insulation is very thick though. When 6 speakers worth is bunched together, the insulation adds up. Insulation is pliable and easy to strip.

Wired for Sound

When determining how to optimize sonic clarity originating from my new top-of-the-line receiver and CD Player and emanating from my existing studio monitors, I gladly accepted Crutchfield's recommendation to purchase Audioquest G2 speaker cable. While the cable's 16-gauge wire and supple sheathing made installation a breeze, the improved clarity of sound was instantly apparent. For the first time the distinct sound of harpsichord plectra and gentle clacking of tracker pipe organ mechanicals could be heard - particularly at low to medium volume. Now, there is no weak link in my state of the art music system!

Exceeded expectations

I originally wanted a pair of AudioQ Type 4's for my speakers, but they are so old they don't have banana connections. So, I reluctantly ordered some G2 instead. I must say I have been very impressed. Like many of the reviews say, the cable was easy to strip and work with. Once stripped you notice the quality of the copper you are dealing with. I easily attached a couple of spade connectors to the speaker end, and a couple of bananas for the other end to run into my receiver. While the cables haven't truly been broken in yet, everything still sounds great! If you have some vintage gear, I'd strongly recommend upgrading with the G2!

Good Clean sound

I bought some new speakers, I figured what better time to upgrade to a better speaker wire. I already had some decent wire, and I used this for the first time on brand new speakers that I had never listened to, So hard to say about any sound improvement. Internal speaker wiring

I needed some 16ga wire to replace internal speaker wires and this was one of the most cost effective options for higher purity copper. The nickel plated steel binding posts had to go in the trash where they belong and there would be little point reconnecting the new posts with the zip cord that was previously used. I won't argue that such a short run of slightly lower quality wire makes a significant difference but the galvanized steel clip probably didn't help. Since I was already in there, it made sense to do it right (copper wire, silver solder, copper posts). Crutchfield had one of the best prices, free shipping, and quickly delivered the product to me in under a week.

Advertising is not reality

Ordered the white cable and was expecting the "red stripe" as advertised to aid in identifying the polarity...well, no red stripe so had to mark each end with a Sharpie. Next, I was expecting to see the "concentric arrangement" of the copper wire when I stripped off the plastic casing....well no concentric arrangement. The copper wire frayed out just like any other cable, except for the 29 year old Monster Cable I purchased this cable to replace. Frankly, prefer the quality of my 29 year old Monster Cable and would return this product if I hadn't already split and marked.

Now that I have used this cable, will not go back to the Monster Brand. I used the cable to feed my two newly installed rear in ceiling speakers. Great Speaker cable

This is an affordable speaker cable but don't be misguided by its low price, it is quality cable. I used to use cheap speaker cable in most of my speaker connections. Once I bought the original monster cable but did not hear much of a sound improvement. I purchased this cable together with the monster flex pin gold plated connectors and the sound improvement is amazing. I can now hear sounds in my music I've never heard before. I strongly recommend this cables as an upgrade to any one who has regular speaker cables. You will not regret it.

Very Impressed after conducting A|B testing

I've just put together my first "higher-end" home system after dabbling in car audio for over a decade. I had a Marantz 1060 fully restored and built a pair of monitor sized speakers on stands. I like to do a lot of research on whatever I buy, and read that "high quality cables" make a difference. So I picked up some AudioQuest "evergreen" series for signal from my TV to amp and 3.5mm headphone jack to amp. After more research, I found what I've been calling "RCA's" are really referred to as "interconnects" and that "cables" are actually speaker wire. I had purchased "Home Wired" 12 gauge speaker wire "cables" to connect my amp to my speakers. Thinking 12 gauge was super thick, and each run was only 8ft. After more research, I found 2 camps on the internet- one saying speaker wire is speaker wire, it's just copper, so get thick stuff and you'll be fine. Another camp said cables made a "massive difference." I decided to give the lower end G2 cables a try, thinking that it would be a great (low cost experiment) for $40. Long story short, the G2 did indeed make a "massive" difference. I even did A/B testing with the old wire, skeptical of improvement. It's best described as; these cables make it sound like there was a stack of pillows in front of your speakers before. Did everything sound great before? Yes. But I would say the sound is far less "muffled" and much more "detailed." Measurable differences include: I had to re adjust my treble settings down 40% from before.

good product, but dfisappointing feature

I specifically purchased this item because I was interested in the polarity feature which is displayed in advertising this cable. All the advertising clearly shows one of the cables marked in red so that polarity can be clearly identified. However, the cable I received had no such marking, therefore I was greatly disappointed. The cable is adequate and seems strong. I can't understand how the pictured illustration shows the marked polarity on the cable, yet mine had none.

Good cables

I moved a while back, and left behind my good-quality speaker wire which was built in to the wall. I then bought speaker wire from well-known electronic chain. However, recently my speakers had been sounding very poorly, and I was thinking of replacing them (I thought they might have been damaged in the move), but I decided to try new wire first. When I removed the old cable, I noticed corrosion and that the small wires inside had started falling apart. When I stripped the insulation off the Audioquest wire, I immediately noticed a difference, even from when the chain-store wires were new. The Audioquest cable, like the other cables, are composed of a bundle of smaller wires inside a thick insulation. The internal wires in the Audioquest cable are organized and lie together so that it is easy to attach them to the contact. The chain-store wires were always kind of a mess. Also, the overall quality of the materials in the Audioquest cable looks and feels much higher. And the best part--my system--an Onkyo amp and pre-amp, and high-end speakers-- sounds great again!
