Full-bodied sound from an in-ceiling speaker

The DC-80 PRO is part of Definitive Technology's new Dymension CI series of in-wall and in-ceiling speakers. It pairs a 1" aluminum oxide dome tweeter with an 8" poly mid/woofer for clean highs and full-bodied bass. Its punchy sound can bring music and movies to life, even in larger rooms. The pivoting tweeter lets you aim the sound directly towards your listening area, so you can fine-tune your system's sound.

Tool-free mounting for easier installation

Def Tech designed a simple two-piece mounting system with pivoting "dog" arms that installs effortlessly — no tools, no hassles. With its paintable, low-profile grille and hidden flange, the DC-80 PRO is practically invisible. And its IP55 rating means it's not afraid of a little dust or water.

You can use the DC-80 PRO as part of a multi-room music system, or in a home theater system. It's voice-matched with Def Tech's Mythos and Dymension speakers.

1" Pivoting Aluminum Oxide Dome Tweeter: The pivoting aluminum oxide 1" dome tweeter delivers lifelike high frequencies. Its pivoting design allows you to aim the high frequency sound for crisp, clear sound where you need it most in the room.
8.0" Mineral-Filled Polypropylene Woofer: The light, rigid, mineral-filled polypropylene 8.0" woofer reproduces smooth bass and natural midrange frequencies for clear music and movie soundtracks..

Sophisticated Crossover: The DC-80 PRO utilizes a sophisticated crossover network for optimal driver performance with a seamless transition between high and low frequencies.

IP55-Rated: With IP55-rated protection against dust and low-pressure water streams, trust that you can bring premium sound to any space, including high-humidity environments and outdoor areas.

Spring-Post Terminals: The Dymension CI Series DC-80 PRO is outfitted with a set of spring-post terminals that accept bare wire (up to 12AWG), pin-connectors, and banana plugs (single or dual).

Micro-Perforated Magnetic Grille: A micro-perforated magnetic grille is included. The grille features a white finish, but can also be painted to match the color of your ceiling.

Two-Piece Mounting System: A simple, two-piece system with frame and pivoting "dog-leg" clamps installs Dymension CI Series DC-800 PRO effortlessly in the ceiling. The DC-80 PRO requires a circular cutout that measures 10.625" (diameter) x 5.0" (depth) in the ceiling. There needs to be at least 0.75" of clearance around the inside of the cutout to accommodate the "dog-leg" clamps. The "dog-leg" clamps support a 0.25" to 1.0" thick ceiling.

Note: Make sure to select a mounting location for the speaker that has sufficient clearance above the ceiling to avoid any interference with electrical wiring, plumbing or other fixtures.

Timbre-Matching: Combine Definitive Technology's timbre-matched Dymension, Dymension CI, and Mythos speakers and Descend Series subwoofers to design a high-performance home theater, stereo music, or distributed audio system.
