Mythos 3-Channel Soundbar: The Definitive Technology Mythos Series 3C-65 is a three-channel passive soundbar speaker that combines the three front channels of a home theater system in a single speaker enclosure. The Mythos Series 3C-65 passive soundbar employs a 3-channel, 13-driver array featuring three 1" aluminum oxide dome tweeters and eight 3.5" XTDD aluminum dome woofers for dynamic, room-filling sound. The center channel consists of one 1" aluminum oxide dome tweeter and four 3.5" XTDD aluminum dome woofers, while the front left and right channels each have one 1" aluminum oxide dome tweeter and two 3.5" XTDD aluminum dome woofers.
- 1" Aluminum Oxide Dome Tweeters: Each channel features a single 1" aluminum oxide dome tweeter. The rigid, well-damped aluminum oxide 1" tweeter delivers smooth extended response, crisp transients, and pin-point imaging for cohesive, lifelike sound that draws you inside the action.
- 3.5" XTDD Aluminum Dome Woofers: The center channel contains four 3.5" XTDD aluminum dome woofers, while the front left and right channels each have two 3.5" XTDD aluminum dome woofers. The ultra-stiff anodized aluminum dome 3.5" woofers eliminate break-up and broaden dispersion for crisp, clear sound and a spacious, enveloping soundstage.
Note: The Mythos Series 3C-65 is a passive soundbar loudspeaker and does not feature its own built-in amplifier (a separate AV receiver is required and sold separately).
Precision Crossover Network: The Definitive Technology Mythos 3C-65's meticulously tuned crossover networks are optimized to deliver the most efficient driver performance. The result is richer, fuller sound that is both dynamic and balanced.
Aircraft-Grade Aluminum Sealed Cabinet: The Mythos 3C-65 uses a highly rigid, aircraft-grade aluminum enclosure that is sealed and perfectly tuned for the 3-channel multi-driver array. You'll experience the truest sound from this rigid sealed enclosure, uncolored by cabinet resonances. The aircraft-grade aluminum cabinet comes with a micro-perforated, powder-coated steel grille that is detachable.
3 Sets of Spring-Post Terminals: There is a set of spring-post terminals for each channel that will connect to your AV receiver's center, front left, and front right speaker outputs. The spring-post terminals only accommodate bare wire and do not support banana plug connectors. Make sure to set your AV receiver's crossover to 150Hz or higher for its front left, front right, and center channel outputs.
Mounting Options: The Definitive Technology 3C-65 passive soundbar can be horizontally wall-mounted below or above your flat-panel TV. The 3C-65's ultra-slim enclosure measures only 1.9375" deep and can extend from 56.5"-60.0" to perfectly align with the dimensions of your flat-panel 65" TV for a cohesive look (it extends 3.375" from each end). The passive soundbar speaker offers 3 wall-mounting options - integrated keyhole slots, wall bracket, and TV brackets.
- Integrated Keyhole Slots: The passive soundbar can be wall-mounted using its integrated keyhole slots on back of the speaker. The keyhole slots are spaced 47.75" apart. You'll need two #10 x 2" screws (not included) secured into wood studs or directly into drywall with wall-anchors (not included).
- Included Wall Bracket: The passive soundbar can also be mounted to the wall using the included bracket (50.25" in length). You'll need a minimum of five #10 x 2" screws (not included) secured into wood studs or directly into drywall with wall-anchors (not included).
- VESA TV Brackets: In addition, the passive soundbar can be mounted to the VESA mounting holes on the back of your TV. The soundbar TV brackets should be placed on your TV first and then your TV's wall-mount bracet secures over top of the soundbar brackets to your television's VESA mounting holes. The soundbar TV brackets accommodate 300mm, 400mm, and 600mm VESA mounting hole patterns. VESA mounting screws are not included.
Note:
- Wall screws and drywall anchors are not included and sold separately.
- The Mythos 3C-65 cannot be mounted on a tabletop surface; its only designed to be wall-mounted.
IP66 Rated: The Mythos 3C-65 passive soundbar speaker's weather-resistant, IP66-rated construction protects against dust and high-pressure water streams, while ensuring a reliable performance both indoors and in covered outdoor environments.
Optional Powered Sub: You have the option of adding a Definitive Technology Descend Series powered subwoofer (sold separately - see Accessories Tab) to the Mythos Series passive soundbar loudspeaker to seamlessly extend low-frequency bass performance.
