I'm looking for the most ideal ported enclosure for the Alpine X-W12, Would this be the right fit? Additionally would the Apline X-W12D4 fit the Cutout Diameter? Alpine X-W12D4: 11 1/16" Sound Ordnance Bass Bunker: 11 1/8"

Greetings Brandon. Thank you for your question. The box volume is extremely close, the sub will fit in the box's cutout, there is no depth issue either.

Q
Would this work for an Alpine S2? According to the manual for the 12 inch this box is .1 ft³ larger Gross volume than their max recommended size. Thanks.
kevin  Aug 29, 2024
1 answer
A
Hey Kevin, being that the box is just a bit bigger, technically there is a chance the box will now give you as tight due to there being too much space for the air to move around in. If you wanted to optimize the hit just a bit more , I would look at this box from SPL Boxes that we carry and that has 1.5cu.ft. of airpace which puts us more in range for an optimized ported output: https://www.crutchfield.com/I-rET1c402/p_419SB112V/SPL-Boxes-SB112V.html

This subwoofer box is too deep to fit into the rear cargo area of that Jeep Wrangler. We do have subwoofer boxes that can fit and advisors who can be reached by calling 1-800-324-9695 to give a personal recommendation on a sub box

Q
Will a Pioneer TS-D12D2 12â?? fit the depth and cut out hole for mounting to this box?
george  Jan 22, 2022

A
Sure, it will fit. However for the optimum performance out of any subwoofer you would ideally want to find, build or have someone build an enclosure accurate to the speaker manufacturer's recommendations for that specific speaker. Just Google search the speaker and you will find the enclosure requirements. Then, look up the box and see of you have a match. If you just want a little extra bass in your vehicle which, I can tell from the speaker you're asking about that this is the case, it will be fine for your vehicle. You can buy a cheap Amp for about $100 from a pawn shop where the watt output matches your speakers output and have someone install it for you. Good luck!

Yes it'll fit

Q
Should this be good for p3d4?
kamuela  Dec 11, 2021
1 answer
A
Find the inner space measurements of the box. Compare with the box requirements of that speaker. My opinion is, it depends on exactly what you're looking for. If you want to be heard down the block, you want the T-series by Rockford Fosgate. They cost $1,000.00+ per speaker. If you just want to add to your factory system, this is a good choice. Hope that helps.

Q
Wod this box be a good choice for a skar svr 12? Or would the 150V be better?
2kold  Jul 31, 2021

A
Easy answer my friend.. Get the Skar ported 12" box. It's solid as FranK Thomas, the HOF DH /1Bman from the White Sox. IDK how I got to this point in a knuckleballing Tangential review, but his name nickname was " The Big Hurt'. And that fits perfectly to describe the box. Could be Skar's best musical instrument(depends...) but it's <$100, dbl baffled, 40ish+pounds,tuned @32-34ish,it's really well made. & (finally ??) it(SVR) is a perfect match cuz it can even make the SDR sound like caged fury til the fresher SDR decides to fry it's coil on a 75 watt talk show hiccup..True story ??.

Is 1.83 cu ft. the gross (including the space for the ports) or net (does not include the space for the ports) cubic square feet? Thank you
melvin g  Sep 14, 2020

A
That is total box volume or gross volume which does count the air in the port tubes too.

Q
Overall how does an Alpine R-W12D2 sound in this enclosure? Is it near optimum for it? Any negatives? Thanks alot.
lanny  Aug 03, 2020
1 answer
A
I have this exact setup. I bought this box because it nearly matched the specifications. I think it sounds pretty good. The extremely low frequencies aren't quite there but I believe that is just due to the sub itself and using a LPF. Overall it's a nice box and well built. And it's a good match for the sub.

Q
How does this box pair up with a JL 12w3v3?
jeff  Jul 06, 2020

It will pair up nicely and pound with clarity if you use a quality mono amp or 5 channel.
