The midrange DJI Air 3 drone is a smooth operator thanks to its versatile wide-angle and telephoto cameras, fantastic obstacle avoidance sensors, and lengthy battery life.

Unnecessarily big w small improvements

This sucker is heavy. There is nothing Air about it. It's not light. Almost weighs a full Kilo. It's got as much weight as it's two closest competitors, the Mini 3 Pro Mini Air 2S (combined). That could all be forgiven If it took any better photos or videos. It doesn't. Spec sheet says it does. But it really doesn't. What it also doesn't do Is go as far as it claims. I pushed the drone in a Straight line without any Interference from any building Or towers or any kind in a green Space zone and found that it blacked out Four minutes and 2900 meters into the flight The screen went black. So what do you do ? You immediately trigger return home And hope it's not a fly away. The indicators on the screen said to adjust the antenna like two seconds before it went black. Issue is this particular RC actually has no Antennas making me wonder if the 32KM range rating is more for the other RC (with antennas) than this one (without) So I'm looking at this drone And saying wow you are really a heavy thing and you dont take any better videos and you don't have much of a range to you than your priors, testing in real world. Why am I even looking at you ? The drone is solid. Very sturdy. Very fast. And that also means it's fast trying to maneuver a landing back to the right spot. It wants to just take off like a Ferrari than float down like a butterfly.
Pros: Solid build. Very sturdy. Built to last.
Cons: Range is way off its claims. Makes you think it is designed for the RC with the antennas. It is rocket ship fast. And this causes problems in trying to float down like a butterfly and stick the landing. RTH misses the spot making you have to deal with soft landing that's hard to do given how fast this drone is. Video quality ? Definitely not any better than it's closest competitors the Air 2S or mini Pro. Very heavy. Not Air category at nearly a kilogram. heavy as mini pro + Air 2S combined !
