Features

Custom Brackets: The KFC-XP6903C is designed as a factory replacement speaker system. The included 6x9 woofers are typically installed in the front doors. Mounting brackets are also included, compatible with many GM, Toyota, and Dodge vehicles. The multi-purpose brackets are scored for trimming to fit several applications. Please enter your vehicle information to confirm fit.

Midrange: The included 3½" coaxial speakers replace the factory tweeters.

Crossover Network: A high-pass crossover is integrated into each wire included for the midrange/tweeter. The output end of the wire has quick slides that plug onto the 3½" coaxial speaker terminals. (The input end of the wire is not terminated.) The low-pass crossovers are wired to the 6x9 woofer terminals and attached to the speaker baskets. Each woofer has two positive input terminals, one to utilize the crossover and one to bypass.

Warranty Note: Although the information included with these speakers indicates a 1-year warranty, they are actually covered by the Kenwood eXcelon 2-year warranty.

Q
Is this set 4ohm total per side, or 4ohm each speaker giving 2ohm per side?. I'm looking to install in a 2021 Camry LE factory speakers are 4ohm each front set (dash and door) wired in parallel giving 2ohm load.
cornelio  Dec 24, 2023
1 answer
A
Greetings Cornelio. Thank you for your question. These are 4 ohm per side. The woofers are 4 ohms, and the tweeters are 4 ohms. the radio, or amp still sees a 4 ohm load per side. If your Camry did not come with the JBL system, your factory speakers are all 4 ohm.

Q
Have a 2010 Chrysler 300C, non Kicker sound system. According to your website, the front door speakers are a 6×9 and the dash speakers are a 3.5". Yet it shows the Kenwood KFC-XP6903C as not being compatible. I plan to replace the factory radio and all of the factory speakers, so these should work for my front stage, correct?
joseph b  Oct 27, 2023

A
These Kenwood Excelon KFC-XP6903C speakers are not a fit in your 2010 Chrysler 300C, Joe. While you can fit a 6x9 in the front doors, there is some depth restrictions and these Kenwood speakers are too deep to fit in the door. Our main goal is to make sure you have a smooth install when upgrading your speakers! According to my info, the Pioneer TS-G690 in the below link is one of the only 6x9 speakers we can confirm will fit in both the rear deck and door speaker locations on your 300C, check them out! The Kenwood Excelon 2-way 3 1/2" dash speaker in the second link below can still be used in the dash with whatever you choose for the door and rear deck speakers! I hope this helps. https://www.crutchfield.com/p_130TSG690/Pioneer-TS-G690.html https://www.crutchfield.com/p_113X3C/Kenwood-Excelon-KFC-X3C.html

Q
I have a 2004 Toyota 4runner. I replaced the stock head unit with a JVC unit. Just wondering why the 03c will not fit my lower door but the 02c will. I watched a YouTube video by Kemwood and the Rep. said the 6x9 speakers are the same. Just wondering?
robert  Sep 12, 2023

A
Greetings Robert, and thank you for your question. The Kenwood XP6903C use a 3.5 inch tweeter/midrange. The factory tweeters are 2.5 inch. As a matter of fact the XP6902C should not show up as fitting either but if you needed to modify the fit, the 6902C would be an easier modification. The XP6902C Tweeter/Midrange is 2.75 inches, where again the factory is a 2.5 inch. If your willing to do what it takes to install these, I dont see any other fitment issues.

I have a 07 colbalt with 6x9s in the rear. I've helped put these in my buddy's truck and was wondering if they would fit in my car? As far as i can tell i might need to get an adapter for them, but figured I'd ask first.

A
Greetings Jacob, and thank you for your question. Our site does not show those as fitting, but I looked at all the measurements ,and the 6x9 woofer will fit, no adapter bracket needed. The tweeters though will always be a bit more work.

Q
I have a 2015 Ram 1500 quad cab.. it has the 5.0 Uconnect, 6 speakers, is non-alpine, it has Sirius radio, voice command with blue tooth and a media hub in arm rest.. I'm concerned with the instal of the speakers.. the 3.5s and their crossovers throw me.. using the factory wires.. can I simply connect the 6x9s mount them.. door panels back.. move on to dash corners.. connect crossovers to factory wires.. stuff them down into dash holes.. then plug the 3.5s to the wires off the crossovers... mount them above the crossovers in their dash corners.. grills back on.. done? or do I have to connect the crossovers to the 6x9s (which have been connected to the factory wire) and feed the wires from the crossovers up to the corners of the dash to be connected to the 3.5s?

I just installed these Kenwood speakers in my 2022 Ram 2500 Bighorn reg cab. I have the uconnect 5 with 8.4 screen and the Alpine premium speakers so I have the center dash speaker which is the exact same as the corner dash speakers. If your doing what I did just replacing the speakers you do not have to touch any of the factory wiring, it's all plug in especially if you use the Metra adapters 72-7902 for dash speakers and 72-6515 for door speakers. The 3.5's fit perfect in the dash under the factory grilles just make sure you use the supplied crossovers or you will ruin your new speakers, they can't have low frequencies going to them. The Kenwoods are 4ohm speakers and your dash speakers are 8ohm so there may be a slight difference in volume levels. You can solder in 4ohm resisters on the + wire if it bothers you. My factory Alpine speakers did not have the ohms printed on the back so l checked them with a multi meter and they were 2.2 ohms including the door speakers which are just woofers. Since I have a reg cab my rear speakers are behind the seat in the cab corners which are 2 way speakers and your rear doors should have the same thing. I am going to replace them with kenwood excelon KFC-X694 2 way speakers eventually. Changing the dash speakers and the front door 6x9's woofers with this 4pc. set made a huge difference, it sounds great, and it sounded lousy before. Also the 6x9's fit perfectly in the doors, they don't hit the window regulator inside the door and the door panels go back on perfectly over them. Use the supplied foam that comes with the speakers and follow the kenwood supplied directions. I took the crossovers for the 3.5 dash speakers and soldered them to the Metra adapters, they plug into your factory wiring and the other end of the wires after the crossover already has the female spade connectors on them to connect to the new speakers. Thanks.

I just installed these kenwood speakers in my 2022 Ram 2500 bighorn regular cab. I have the 8.4 screen
david  Apr 06, 2022
A
The factory dash wires run in parallel to the front door speakers. They get the full signal same as the door speakers do. What I did on mine is cut and solder the metra adapter crutchfiels included into the crossover input side then dropped the crossover into the dash followed by mounting the speaker.
james stephan  Apr 03, 2022
A
I would say if your system has a factory amp I would bypass wiring to 3.5's and hook your xover to 6x9 wiring but if no factory amp use 3.5 wiring to connect cover. I am not expert so this is just my suggestion but with factory amp the 3.5 wiring has already been xovered internally through the amplifier.
tony  Apr 03, 2022
A
You do not need the crossovers at all unless your using a after market amp, hook up to factory wiring and done.

Q
I have an 09 ram with standard stereo not the alpine why does it say they will not work, and if I'm changing out the head unit to a pioneer would they then work?
capt brent  Mar 24, 2022
1 answer
A
Its probably your speaker hole size. Something about where the speakers mount is not right. And that's why it's saying won't work. It shouldnt have anything to do with your head unit.

Q
Have a 2016 ram 1500. Will Kenwood Excelon KFC-XP6903C work with the factory Alpine 9 speaker system?
kyle  Mar 22, 2022
1 answer
A
Yes it will work but you might loose some volume because the factory speakers are 2 ohms so they get more power from the factory amp. I think you should be ok
robert  Mar 22, 2022
Q
This is just a combo with a pair of 6x9 and a pair of 3 1/2 , or it comes with a passive crossover to make a 3 way set up ?

A
Passive coils on 6x9, crossover inline on 3.5. I put them in my ram 3500, way better than factory Alpine.
anthony  Aug 12, 2021
A
3.5 inch speaker comes with inline crossover/impedance matching circuit. Look like a black brick. In my case in my Toyota Camry the dash speaker (3.5) and door speaker (6.5) are wired in parallel from factory. So if I want to use Factory wiring you need to use the inline box to make it look like 4 ohms to the stereo/amp. Is also a crossover.
daniel  Aug 12, 2021
Q
will this work with my compact kenwood 4ch 45rms? Will I risk damaging my amp? Should I bridge my amp?

It will work on 45w rms. I ran mine on a 45w and then a 65w and couldn't tell a difference.
tyler b.  Apr 20, 2021
A
It will work on 45 watts RMS but will perform better with 75 watts IMO.
cody  Apr 20, 2021
Q
If I was installing this in the front of my vehicle and deleting the rear 6x9's, using an Alpine KTA-450 in a '09 Dodge Grand Caravan, how would I hook this up?
donald  Feb 14, 2021
2 answers
A
I don't think this is what you are looking for, unless you have the matching head unit (Alpine iLX-650). This amp mounts to the back of that head unit and gets wired directly to it.
charles  Feb 16, 2021
A
If your front door 6x9 are just midbass and the dashes are 3.5's they should drop in. As far as wiring, the dash and door speakers in my Challenger are wired together so they use 2 amp channels and the rear speakers use the other 2 channels. I just disconnected the rears, ran new wires to the dash and added a amp and amp replacement module from PAC. Some Dodge's have a 6 channel factory amp.
loren  Feb 14, 2021
Q
I'm looking at getting a compact amp I can put behind my HU to drive these and rear speakers. Will a 45-50w per channel amp drive these(not bi-amped) pretty good?
john  Jan 12, 2021

Yea pretty good. I would be more comfortable on that size amp vs blowing your factory head unit. I ran mine on and alpine 4ch 400w.
tyler b.  Jan 14, 2021
A
That should be fine.

Q
How should I properly wire the 4 speakers (2 6x9's, 2 3.5") to an amp? The directions are not clear. I have a 4 channel amp with the rears going to one channel and these 4 up front that need to be wired to one channel. I have a 2011 Ram 1500 Crew. A diagram would be helpful. Thanks

A
I wired the woofer and tweeter together for one channel, allowing the provided crossover to do its job. There is instruction on how to wire it together and individually
darren  Sep 10, 2020
A
Ok so you are bridging the amp? You are going to use 1 channel to run 2 rear speakers?
jesus  Sep 03, 2020
A
I'm assuming you mean you're using 2 channels of your 4 channel amp already. So an example how to would be both of the left speakers hook up to the 1st channel and both rights hook up to the 2nd channel. Your rears on Ch 3 &4. You have to use the included crossovers to keep the impedance correct and because you don't have enough channels to use a biamp configuration. The 6x9s will need to be hooked up on the low pass lug to utilize the built in crossover. Again you're not biamp so you'll have to rely on the provided crossovers.
tyler b.  Sep 02, 2020
A
Second option. Wire the dash speakers in parallel with the front door speakers to the amplifier. The could create a 2 ohm load on the front right and left channels. However, the dash speakers may be too loud, taking away from the door speakers, especially in the rear doors.
troy michael  Sep 02, 2020
A
Power the 3.5" dash speakers from the radio power only, not through the amplifier. From your 4 channel amp, connect the 6x9's in each door, one speaker per channel. Let the radio power the dash speakers, but do not forget to put the crossover inline, as low frequency will destroy them.

I am not sure if it fits the new Ram. I have the 2019 Ram classic. I would assume it does but can't 100% say so. Sorry
william  Jun 10, 2020
A
Im not positive that the new ram has the same configuration with the 6x9 in door and 3m5 in dash. If it does then yes. This is a great setup for dodge- using this component set in my daughters avenger along with replacing the rear 6x9 with the kenwood 7". Piece of cake install, kenwood provides more than enough direct fit brackets

I put them in 2014 1500 Ram with no problem at all. They sound great.

They fit perfect! I'm running a set in the front and a set in the back without the 3.5's. I have them running off a 400x4 JL Audi and they sound amazing.
jesus  Sep 03, 2020
A
They will fit. Crutchfield says they are too deep and the basket too wide to fit, but there are literally hundreds if not thousands of Rams, Chargers, and Challengers that have this setup installed with no problems.

Q
Does this speaker set fit the front door (6x9 inch) and front dash corner (3 1/2 inch) speaker locations in a 2015 Ram 1500 truck?

A
Yes, they fit perfectly in both locations. I just installed them in my 2018 Ram. I must say, at first I was disappointed in the sound, but soon found out there is a break in period and they get much better! They have crystal clear highs, great bass and just sound awesome!! Huge improvement over stock!
james  May 26, 2020
A
I don't know about 2015. I have a 2018 and fit right int. I would assume that yours should be the same. Speakers also come with some spacers and adaptors, I didn't have to use any.
cristian  May 25, 2020
Q
Are these 100 WRMS for the 6x9 AND 100 WRMS for 3.5? Or is it 100 WRMS for the whole set (50 WRMS each to the 6x9 & 3.5). I'm looking to run these off a 4 channel amp with DSP control/crossover for each channel. Sending only mid bass to the 6x9 and the mid/high only to the 3.5s. 2 channels for mid bass, 2 for mid/highs. I'd like to run these @ 100 WRMS per Channel in this configuration.

The instructions show how to bi-amp them. Assuming the RMS rating is for each (providing they're properly crossed over).
christopher g  Mar 11, 2020
A
I haven't amplified them yet but the amp I have is 100 watts per channel. I'd be fine sending that much power to the 3.5" as long as they're crossed over properly. Some guys on the Challengerz forum have them crossed over at 250hz and they are fine being amp'd. The 6x9 I'm sure can take more than 100 watts. I'd suggest sound deadening as well. Even off factory deck power the 6x9's made my doors rattle. The bass response is outstanding.

What is the best tool to cut the brackets, or remove the parts you do not need?

The 6x9's fit perfectly into the front doors of my 2014 RAM 1500. I didn't use brackets. But when I've made adjustments to them before, I've used tin snips for metal and a fine tooth saw for the plastic.
jed  Sep 24, 2019
A
I would use an Exacto Knife to score the plastic if needed and Duckbill Pliers to snap off the unneeded pieces.
cody  Sep 24, 2019
A
I'm not sure. I didn't need the brackets for my Challenger. Other brackets that I've seen could be scored with an X-Acto knife and snapped at the score line.
