They built the TS-D10D2 10" subwoofer to handle up to 500 watts RMS, while it dishes out impressive low-frequency punch. This sub features an injection-molded polypropylene cone that's impregnated with Aramid fibers for exceptional precision and strength. A butyl rubber surround supports the woofer during cone excursion so you'll get accurate, hard-hitting bass notes even when the music's turned up loud. The sub's dual 2-ohm voice coils give you more wiring options when setting up your system.

Features

Woofer Cone: Pioneer uses aramid fiber interlaced injection molded polypropylene (IMPP) for the cone, making it more rigid than polypropylene alone.

Dual 2Ω Voice Coils: This woofer features two 2Ω voice coils, offering wiring flexibility. When the voice coils are wired in parallel, the woofer presents a 1Ω load; when wired in series, the woofer presents a 4Ω load.

Terminals: The spring post terminals will accept pin connectors, single banana plugs, or bare wire up to 10 gauge.

Sealed Box Volume: The sealed box sizes recommended by Pioneer range from 0.5 ft³ to 0.8 ft³; within this range the ideal size is 0.7 ft³.

Vented Box Volume: The vented box sizes recommended by Pioneer range from 0.6ft³ to 0.8 ft³; within this range the ideal size is 0.7 ft³ with a single 2" diameter x 5" long port.

Double-stacked Magnet: The woofer uses double-stacked magnets to create a powerful magnetic force. This increases the control exerted over the voice coil.

Free-Air: The woofer can also be mounted in free air to a baffle board (infinite baffle, no enclosure). When mounted in free air, the power handling is reduced by 75% (to 125 watts).

I am using a PIONEER GM-D8701 Mono 1600W Class-FD amp. Is this a good amp to use and they will down firing? Rodney 19 October 2023

Greetings Rondey. Thank you for your question. Your GM-D8701 amp puts out a maximum 800 watts RMS. Thats at 1 ohm. If you were to use two of these subwoofers, they would be wired to 2 ohms. Your amp puts out 500 watts RMS at 2 ohms. Each of these subwoofers would have a 500 watt RMS rating. So would your amp work? Yes, but you would be giving each sub half the power they are rated for.

Great question, Troy. If you are using a single Pioneer TS-D10D2 and want the maximum performance, we will want an amp that delivers 500-watts at 1-ohm.
