Main control functions were easy to program but I still can not get some of the auxiliary functions of the Dish Network remote "learned" to the One For All.

Worked as designed except for older TVs.

Worked well with my newer equipment but wouldn't talk to my older Sony TV

Although there were a number of negative reviews, I feel this product works well. It meets my needs however there are a number of steps needed to get everything to work. Set up was good. I did one macro and it works but you need to have the TV on first then you go to the macro.

Nothing in the design to let you know if you are holding it up or down (towards the TV or towards you). Programming was not very intuitive and the instructions are a little oblique.

Easy programming. Let's me power on TV and receiver and control volume on receiver. I still have to use receiver remote to switch to tuner or phonograph.

It has accomplished the first objective of having only 1 remote, but I still can not get the programing of activities to work. The instructions are very limited.

Set-up app is junk on iOS / iPadOS

Set-up app is a piece of junk software. On my iOS 17.5.1 and iPadOS 17.5.1 app, the TV list starts at "H" (so it is missing a good portion of the brand list). If you select "I know my model number", the app will NOT bring up the keyboard so you can type it, which means there is no way to "search" for your product. The app asks simple function questions (e.g., does power on/of work, does volume work, etc.) as it cycles through the codes. On one product after selecting no to each of ~8 codes, the app said "set-up complete" even though nothing worked! It did not offer any options. Just really poor software, which was last updated on the app store a year ago with support for iOS 16. (You will note iOS is currently on 17.5.) Fortunately, Crutchfield has refunded my purchase without a hassle.

It turns on all of my devices just fine. However, it is impossible to create a macro to change in puts for different activities.

I had high hopes for this remote but was very disappointed. Work on it for a whole weekend but with no results. Even called tech support but they couldn't help. I am returning it.

Interface problems

Does not work with Cox Cable set top box. Tech support unable to solve this problem. Factory techs promised to add the proper codes but failed to respond. Returning the product.

All Smart Remote Not So Smart

This remote is cumbersome to say the least. It is not user friendly (IMO). Trying to add non mainstream apps was difficult. Once synchronized with my TV, surround sound, etc. several routine functions available on the individual remotes were unavailable o0n this smart remote. I returned the remote because it was not user friendly (IMO);.

Not a Harmony Replacement

Harmony remote, this is not. Clunky to program. Lacking instructions for basic usage (hit power button TWICE to turn off!). I spent a good hour trying to program this for 3 activities using only 4 devices. Avoid this and try sofabaton. They're better. Not Harmony better but close.

Don't waste your money.

Unable to configure even the most basic functions. Returned one unit just to get another failure. Stop buying this junk. It sucks.

This will not fully work all your components, you cannot use the volume control when on some streaming remotes like Roku. Still had to use my old remotes.

"No more multiple device remote desktop clutter" !

This unit is a great choice for clearing up "multiple device remote desktop clutter" that most of us are plagued with at home. Set up: I downloaded the App, but, it wouldn't link with the OFA Smart Control 8 no matter what I did. I resorted to using the "manual code input feature", and the included device/code lists. I set up 4 devices: a TV, an AVR, an attached Integrated Amp, and, a CD/DVD player successfully ! My "5th device", a Pre/Dac/Tuner, would not work after trying all of the listed codes for that device/vendor. I had a Live Chat with Obi, a Rep. here at Crutchfield. He was helpful in offering insight on available options for setting up the OFA SC8. He also forwarded a "customer request for device codes for my non-working device" to the Smart Control 8's manufacturer on my behalf. I applied the advice offered by the Rep. I used the "IR remote to IR remote technique" he had mentioned, and, within minutes,I got my OFA Smart Control 8 programmed and working with the Pre/Dac/Tuner ! (4/5 Stars).

The product seems to be excellent; however, we've been unable to find a "code" for the old RUNCO monitor I'm using. Technical support personnel have been trying to help, and I'm waiting to hear from them after they've evaluated suggestions from technicians at PLANAR (parent of RUNCO) . I mailed those suggestions along with a cover letter to your Charlottesville office last week, marked to the attention of "Technical Support."

Promising, but actual experience was a fail

I try not to be too critical of a product, but when it just fails altogether, I will make my feelings known. I purchased this remote after a chat with a Sales Advisor. Initially I was looking for a decent soundbar. But when I described my system, was directed to get a good remote to handle all the set up and switching chores. Note that I had previously owned a Harmony Elite, which sets up functions like "watch TV" or "listen to music" and would turn on / off the appropriate devices and set inputs. When it worked, it was great. BUT. It often lost the settings and was frustrating to re-set on the fly. So I sold it and determined to simplify my system. I did, but still had multiple-remote issues, as my Sony TV remote couldn't turn on my Cambridge Audio receiver. Anyway, my Sales Adviser assured me the One for All was perfect for my needs; he even said he had much of my same equipment, and it worked perfectly. The remote arrived, and I attempted to set it up. Downloaded the app, and began the process. Waited. And waited. And some more...the app never set up even one component, just spun in an endless loop. I then tried the method using the remote keys. Got the TV and cable box to work, but the Cambridge amp refused to set up. Called Tech Services; usually Crutchfield techs are wonderful, but he was unable to determine a resolution to my issue. I'm pretty tech-savvy, but this remote either was defective or the whole process is questionable. I returned it.

Nice and handy

Nice and handy. A little confusing to set up at first but after a few "resets" was able to get it. Glad to be able to de-clutter my end table.

After you enter a code, if it is incorrect it will not let me delete the old one and enter another code. The Remote is useless!!! I have been in contact with One For All and all the hoops they had me to jump thru did not work. I will be returning this item!!!

Fussy wife a bit happier

My wife HATED all the remotes that were hard to use and ate batteries. Our stereo installer recommended this and now my wife is happy(er)...She says the letters and numbers are too hard to see now, but is more a factor of old age and fussiness and not the product's fault!

Remote is better than Sofabaton--better,larger buttons. App is not near as elegant. Only 4 stars because it will not work with LG TV's smart tv menu function. One for all works with the tv, except for the "OK" (enter) button. Crutchfield had no answer. That's not a knock against Crutchfield--tech support was helpful, but could not find an answer.

Disappointed by Frustrating Limitations

My system is made up of a Samsung UN48H6400 TV, a Denon AVR-X6400H AV-receiver, a Sony UBP-X800 Blu-ray/Multiplayer, a Samsung BD-H5900 Blu-Ray, and an LG BP350 Blu-Ray. I was willing to pare down to one of the last two which I have been using to maintain my place in TV Series on DVD or BD. After getting help from Crutchfield so I could get the battery case open and install the batteries, I was able to get things sort of working. The TV plus the Samsung and LG BD's worked OK. The Denon worked, but could not select device inputs or sound modes (many more keys than are available to program), and, the big deal: I couldn't get the Sony BD to set up at all. I was unable to get anything useful out of ofa.com, or the One for All setup app. With this working I get down to 3 remotes rather than 5, not much of an improvement over keeping the receiver and TV remote on the end table, and transporting BD remotes as I change disks. Things might have gone better with a TV/soundbar setup and just the right Blu-rays.

You WILL Be Sorry when you try to setup and use this item

This product is nothing but a complete loser. It cannot be programmed by the included instructions, on-line help, YouTube videos, and everything else I could find to try. After 4 hours last night, and another 5 tonight I still can only use the TV function, and it still won't work for the three devices I want to control with it. I'm amazed that I haven't yet taken my hammer to it for an 'adjustment'. I wanted to use a universal remote because I just finished upgrading my home theater and audio components and want to replace the five new remotes I got with my new gear. This was the only universal remote that Crutchfield had on it's site. I found a Logitech Available and will order it up tomorrow. I've used that brand before with wonderful results and easy set-up. If Crutchfield is smart it will distance itself from this product.

Great Remote to eliminate 3 remotes

I really like this remote so far. It was easy to set up and will eliminate the need to grab 3 remotes. I have it set up to control a TV, Receiver/Amp and a Roku. Great customer service from Crutchfield as well.

Can't control my NAD DVD player

I cannot control my DVD player even after reaching out to Crutchfield's technical support. It was easy to set it up with my Sharp TV, slightly more difficult with my Directv set top box, but so far after 3 hours of trying different things and asking Crutchfield for help, no luck with my NAD DVD player.
