Crutchfield: The Podcast Ep 66

In this episode:

JR and Huffy share the online resources they use to stay up to date on the latest in audio, video, sound, car stereo installation, and more. The Crutchfield website is a great place to educate yourself about the gear so you can shop intelligently for TVs, home theater, car stereo, speakers, amps, subs, cameras, drones, and more!

We use these resources to do our jobs more effectively at Crutchfield, and we're happy to share some favorites with our listeners. There are plenty of other great resources out there — hopefully this episode will help you start your next project or make your next gear purchase.

Here's a list of the resources we covered in this month's episode:

[Speaker 1] (0:22 - 0:37)

Hello and welcome to Crutchfield, the podcast. I'm your host, JR joined in studio once again by my lovely and talented co-host. Lovely.

Yes. Thank you so much. How you doing, buddy?

Doing great. We're back, baby. Here we are.

[Speaker 2] (0:37 - 0:38)

Doing it again.

[Speaker 1] (0:38 - 1:29)

Yeah. We're in the latter part of 2025 here. This is our September episode.

Yeah. Okay. All right.

It's starting to get a little chilly out. Those mornings are getting a little cooler. Oh my gosh.

Love that. This weather has been some of the nicest weather I've ever experienced, period. It's been great.

Wonderful. A lot of time on the motorcycle. Okay.

Yeah. You, not me. Yes, me.

Yeah. Definitely not me. Me and my motorcycle.

My wife has made it very clear I am not allowed to have a motorcycle until I have a million dollar life insurance policy. I don't know why those two things have anything to do with one another, but somehow in her mind they're related. I get that.

She's a wise person. I think she was encouraging me in that case to then get a motorcycle. I don't know what that's about.

Oh. No. Maybe wiser than we thought.

I kid.

[Speaker 2] (1:29 - 1:30)

I kid. I kid about the second part.

[Speaker 1] (1:32 - 2:15)

Did you notice on your way over here, because we worked in different buildings for those of you that don't know. Did you notice all the new stuff laying around in the video studio, in the photo studio? Yeah.

Yeah. There's some new toys out there. Pretty exciting.

It seems like we're picking up a whole new thing at Crutchfield. Yeah. Yeah.

It's quite, quite exciting for us. A new vendor, new products. Yeah.

Yep. Are we going to talk about that today? I'm so excited to talk about that.

Nice. On a future episode. Oh.

Okay. All right. Because it's not live yet.

The lawyers have said you need to wait.

[Speaker 2] (2:15 - 2:24)

That makes sense. I love it when we pick up new stuff, because I feel like it's always a chance for me to buy something that we haven't carried before. Right.

[Speaker 1] (2:24 - 5:22)

It's like, ooh, discount on new stuff. That's exactly what happens. The guys in merchandising, when they tell people about the new things we're going to carry, the first question they get from most Crutchfield employees- We're doing it wrong.

Every Crutchfield employee is doing it wrong if it's not the first question they ask. What's our discount? Do we get a special price on this?

That's right. How many can I buy? I'm going to have to go check with my wife, because I don't want to offend her, and make sure that I've got permission and all that good stuff.

You've got to be really careful. We're going to have to save that. We are planning to talk about this new vendor in the coming months.

I can't even be specific about when we're going to talk about it, but- Pretty soon. Yeah. Maybe I can say this year.

Ooh. It'll happen this year. Okay.

Yeah. Looking forward to some future episodes of Crutchfield, the podcast. If you're curious, post up in the comments.

If you're listening to this on Spotify, you can comment there, or you can send us an email. The podcast at crutchfield.com. We'd love to hear from you.

We cannot confirm or deny anything on the air. I'd be curious what brands people think we should pick up. That would be fun.

That'd be a good experiment. Anybody that brings one to our attention, we're happy to share it with our merchandising department. The best way to do that, podcast at crutchfield.com.

Send us an email. They come directly to Huffy and me, and we'll be glad to read them. If you have questions you'd like us to answer on air on a future episode, please send us those too.

We have done that in the past. We love interacting with our listeners and answering any questions you might have. Yeah, we do.

What are we doing in this month's episode, Huffy? This month, we are sharing some of our favorite resources for industry news, tech advice, things like that. We are consumers of information, just like you are, the listener.

We are assuming you're consumers of information if you're listening to this podcast. Yeah, that is the hope. We figured we'd kind of share our notes a little bit and let you guys in on what kind of excites us and what other content out there we listen to.

Any resource out there is fair game, right? It could be a podcast, it could be a website, it could be a YouTube channel, any and all of the above. If it's something that we consume on a regular basis outside of work or maybe even as a part of our job sometimes, we want to share it with you.

I think we both have our top three. We've got that narrowed down. This isn't going to be- Yeah, and that was tough, right?

[Speaker 2] (5:22 - 5:22)

It really was.

[Speaker 1] (5:23 - 5:42)

It might change with the season, it changes with maybe the topic, certainly with the topic, but these are certainly towards the top, if not our absolute top three. So I'm chomping at the bit to share mine, but out of deference for you, I think you should go first. Out of deference.

[Speaker 2] (5:42 - 5:44)

You want the honors? Sure.

[Speaker 1] (5:44 - 5:53)

All right, Huffy. What is your first industry resource that you think listeners of Crutchfield the Podcast might find helpful or interesting?

[Speaker 2] (5:53 - 6:00)

Wow, that's a great question. So I have a confession to make. Oh boy.

You were just expecting an answer. I was.

[Speaker 1] (6:01 - 6:14)

I don't know how to pronounce my number one pick here. Oh. So I know what it is now.

Yeah, I told you, but now you know what I'm struggling with, right? I do. I know how I think it should be said.

[Speaker 2] (6:14 - 6:14)

Okay.

[Speaker 1] (6:15 - 6:25)

Well, I'm going to say it both correctly and incorrectly, and I'll let you pick which one's which, you know? So rtings.com.

[Speaker 2] (6:25 - 6:26)

Rtings.

[Speaker 1] (6:27 - 6:42)

Or ratings.com. Now, what do you think it should be? Well, it should be ratings, but it's r-t-i-n-g-s.com.

This has got to be one of those things that ratings.com was taking, right? It has to be. It's such a common word.

So they had to spice it up.

[Speaker 2] (6:42 - 6:44)

We could probably check that, but we're not going to. No, we're not.

[Speaker 1] (6:44 - 7:35)

I'm not live anyway. No. Ratings.com or r-t-i-n-g-s.com.

Yes. This is my pick. And why do you like this website so much?

They remind me a lot of Consumer Reports. And I have always enjoyed lab-tested product reviews and not so subjective, but just side-by-side comparisons and testing one thing compared to another. I enjoy that type of thing.

So I just feel like they give the facts, and I really enjoy that. I think they present it well. And, of course, it's not just for the stuff we carry, but they test everything from toaster ovens.

We don't carry toaster ovens, and that's not what we're going to be picking up. Call back to the teaser from earlier.

[Speaker 2] (7:35 - 7:37)

From our new vendor, Sunbeam. Right.

[Speaker 1] (7:38 - 9:50)

Maybe someday. But, yeah, I just enjoy their stuff. And they also have some video content.

They do a lot of things like TV burn-in, where they test that over time. Yeah, that was a long test, months, years, where they had TVs on and doing as scientifically as they could to really show how much work it takes to burn in a TV. And how else would you prove or disprove?

We can obviously take the manufacturer's word for it, but to go out and then run those long-winded tests, I think that's pretty awesome. So definitely, they're an advocate for good purchasing decisions, and I'm all about it. So you use Ratings.com more than I do. Do they specialize in any particular product category that you – like, you think of them first for, I don't know what, TVs, obviously, or do they do most consumer electronics? They do a lot of consumer electronics. I think, you know, in our scope of what we do day in and day out, I think of them quite a bit from a TV standpoint, but, I mean, they also do, you know, computer monitors and headphones and, like I mentioned, toaster ovens and dehumidifiers.

Like, if it's consumer electronics, they're probably looking at it. So I think where I originally started to lean on them is with some of the reviews on the settings of TVs and, you know, the idea of calibrating your TV and whatnot. And they have some interesting, unique data that speaks to that, that, you know, people can take or leave, but, you know, I think it's worth – you know, if I'm purchasing a TV, I'm curious what they think as to what those – the best settings might be for that television.

I may not even agree with it, but it's a great starting spot. And you know, our writers who write for Crutchfield.com and our website, our catalog, especially the TV writers, I know for a fact they use Ratings.com as a resource to help them prepare and to come up with articles and new things to say about TVs and such. So it is a resource for not just Huffy and me, but for a lot of people here at Crutchfield.

[Speaker 2] (9:50 - 9:50)

Yeah.

[Speaker 1] (9:50 - 11:19)

I think that speaks to how much we trust them, that we actually sometimes reference them for our actual articles. Yeah. Yep.

So that's ratings. JR, what is your first choice? So I'm going to go kind of a different direction with this, something less data-driven and more story-driven.

And I've mentioned this podcast on previous episodes, but I would like to recommend that everyone out there, if you have any interest in sound at all, check out the podcast 20,000 Hertz. Oh, yeah. You've definitely talked about that before.

It is appointment viewing, appointment listening for me. When the episodes come out about once every two weeks, and no matter what other thing I'm listening to in my car, whatever Audible book I've got going on or other podcasts, when I see a new 20,000 Hertz episode has dropped, everything else goes by the wayside and I stop everything and listen to the new episode because it's always excellent. It's hosted by a guy named Dallas Taylor.

He owns a sound studio called DeFacto Sound. They do sound design for commercials and video games and even movies now as well. They dive into...

Each episode is a deep dive into the stories behind the world's most recognizable and interesting sounds.

[Speaker 2] (11:19 - 11:29)

Okay. So... Well, I feel like I've heard stories in the past for movie-making, for some of the sound effects.

Is that something that they might get into?

[Speaker 1] (11:29 - 12:21)

Yeah. They got episodes on the sound effects in Star Wars movies, how they got the lightsaber sound, things like that. They've interviewed many sound designers, famous ones.

But it's not just that. They'll also go into the sound that you hear when you open Netflix and how Netflix came to that sound. Like, this was a very thoughtful decision that took years to create that sound.

How HBO's sound, the static-y buzz before an HBO movie or show. Yeah, yeah, yeah. How did they come up to that?

And the old HBO logo from the 80s and how they transitioned from that to what they do now. Things like that. But I want to highlight a few episodes that I strongly recommend for fans of this show.

If you're into music, they've got an episode on the 808 drum machine. Okay.

[Speaker 2] (12:21 - 12:22)

Now, that I'm not familiar with.

[Speaker 1] (12:23 - 12:23)

So...

[Speaker 2] (12:23 - 12:24)

But you're a drummer.

[Speaker 1] (12:24 - 16:46)

Well, it's, I mean, it's more about electronic music and rap. It's mentioned in songs, like the Outkast song, The Way You Move. He says, I know y'all wanted that 808, do you want to feel that B-A-S-S bass?

That's a line in the song that is referencing the 808 drum machine, which was one of a couple drum machines. They were in competition with each other. And then somebody discovered a new way to use it.

And this show just goes into how that changed music forever. Fantastic episode. Okay.

So many songs you listen to today were affected or changed or made possible by the 808 drum machine. And it's pretty great. If you're into movies, as I mentioned, a bunch of sound effects are in there.

And one of them, Hollywood's most iconic sound effect, is called the Wilhelm scream. Are you familiar with that? No, but I really, really, really want you to demonstrate it right now.

If you go through the trivia in IMDb- No, I want you to make the sound. Ugh! Okay.

All right. If you pay attention, you will hear that exact scream. That's my interpretation.

You'll hear the original Wilhelm scream. Was there any copyright infringement or anything? I don't think so.

Okay, okay. That's just an impression. Okay, okay.

And we can't play the actual stuff because our lawyer said, no, no, no. But the Wilhelm scream is in hundreds of movies and TV shows. People that are making movies look for the opportunities to put the Wilhelm scream in their movie because they know somebody's going to notice, somebody's going to write a note about it on Reddit or IMDb or whatever.

And so it's an iconic sound. And they go into how that sound came about. And the third episode I want to highlight is called the physics of sound with Bill Nye, the science guy.

So they bring Bill Nye in to talk about how sound works. Now I have to pay attention. Yes.

I have actually used that episode with our training our new advisors here at Crutchfield because that is something we want everybody here to fundamentally understand is how sound works. That's right. How it works in a car, how it works in your home, how it works outside, just generally how does sound work.

If you know that, you can make better speaker recommendations, better amplifier recommendations. You can make people's car stereos sound better. And this helps with that.

So if you're wondering how sound works, they've got your back. And also, I'm going to cheat a little bit and I'm going to add an extra resource in here because it's related. Dallas Taylor has recently started a YouTube channel called at DallasTaylor.mp3. And it's a companion piece to the audio only podcast. And so there are episodes that are related. He goes around the country filming cool videos, exploring sound environments like the studio where they record Jeopardy, for example, and they talk to the mixer there and the sound effects guy and like how all of the sound works on a show like Jeopardy. They take a tour of Disneyland and notice all of the sound design all over Disneyland.

And it's fantastic. And they're mixing a movie. His movie, his sound studio, DeFacto Sound, is mixing a new movie that is coming out soon.

And he goes into the process of how to mix that and Atmos and all of that stuff. So if you're into movie sound and just sound environments in general, pretty cool YouTube channel. All of this, you can get to it from their website.

It's 20K. That's two zero K dot org links to all of their episodes, their YouTube stuff. It's all there.

And I hope you fall in love with it. Also, one last little tidbit, as you might expect, there is no better sounding podcast on the planet other than this one. No, no, no.

As as much as I know about how to make a podcast sound OK, they put this to shame. I know it's it's it's sad. I was putting all my trust in you.

I know. Oh, it's kind of disappointing. They know they know their stuff.

I mean, they are a sound design studio and it would it would not make any sense for them to put out a podcast that didn't sound amazing. And that's exactly what they do.

[Speaker 2] (16:46 - 16:46)

Cool.

[Speaker 1] (16:47 - 17:11)

All right. What's your number two there, Huffy? Oh, yeah.

So this is totally different direction. Cheap audio man on YouTube, cheap audio man. Yeah, I've seen those videos.

Cheap audio man. Yeah, he I think it's like calling card is kind of budget friendly audio gear, but he definitely branches out.

[Speaker 2] (17:11 - 17:22)

He gives some audio advice, set up advice. And, you know, it's kind of a no audio file zone, although I would argue he's definitely an audio file.

[Speaker 1] (17:22 - 18:47)

Maybe he's in denial. But yeah, the presenter, his name is Randall Messman. I just got that offline.

So, OK, I think that's probably the case. But yeah, it's it's pretty informal. He's pretty funny.

It's accessible. You know, he's not using crazy terms. He's kind of I don't know.

He just does a really good job of kind of bringing things together. Does he do like product reviews mostly? Yeah, he does a lot of product reviews.

But like I said, there's also things like, you know, he's he's not afraid to just put an episode out there that is, you know, full of his opinions about the industry. He'll also do like the history. You know, he recently did one that was the history of JBL, which was pretty informative.

James B. Lansing. There you go.

So, yeah, he just he makes really good content and it's really grounded down to earth. And I dig it. Cheap audio, man.

Yeah. Cheap audio, man. Check him out on YouTube.

Yeah. Another one of my favorite episode. Just to give you an idea where he's coming from.

Yeah. Audio files are full of crap, a cheap audio man rant. So that might just kind of encapsulate his his brand.

Not afraid to put it out there. Yeah, exactly. Do you think he backs that up and makes makes that video not just a clickbait?

I think he does.

[Speaker 2] (18:47 - 18:56)

And, you know, that particular that particular episode, I don't necessarily have to agree with all of his takes.

[Speaker 1] (18:56 - 19:58)

But I think he he's definitely approaching it from the right angle. I mean, we all know, like everybody, if you identify as an audiophile or not, like we all have a budget. Our budgets might not be the same.

And and somewhere in our mind, we kind of think that people that go too extreme are a little silly. Right. Like if you're outside my budget, you're probably might be a little silly with your purchasing decisions.

I think he leans into that. I like it. And he's got some personality.

He does. And and some opinions. It's a good presenter.

And that's that's a good recipe for solid YouTube content. It is. And he's talking about the stuff we sell.

He is. So, yeah, there you go. I'll take it.

You ready for my number two? Uh, yeah. What's your number two?

You know what we haven't talked about yet? Anything car related. Oh, oh, OK.

Yeah. All right. So we carry that stuff, too.

We do. It's kind of a big deal here.

[Speaker 2] (19:58 - 19:59)

Yeah, it really is.

[Speaker 1] (20:00 - 20:48)

And I want to mention another YouTube channel, Car Audio Fabrication. There we go. That's the name of the YouTube channel.

It's at Car Audio Fabrication is their handle. And, of course, Mark, the guy at Car Audio Fabrication, has a website, caraudiofabrication.com. He started off somewhere around 13 years ago, putting videos up on YouTube, mostly about how he builds subwoofer boxes for cars.

He is very good at that. Yeah, he is very talented. Extremely talented.

And his early videos, not quite so polished. Sure. They're fun.

He was, I would even go as far as to say, a little immature in some of those videos.

[Speaker 2] (20:48 - 20:48)

Got it.

[Speaker 1] (20:48 - 21:32)

He has learned so much about how to make very interesting, educational, fun to watch videos about car stereo in general. He still has a bent towards building subwoofer boxes, some of the nicest looking and sounding subwoofer boxes you're going to find anywhere. Yes.

He does not cut corners, which is weird to say. Well, unless he needs to. He actually does cut the corners, rounded corners.

But he makes beautiful, great sounding sub boxes. But he also goes into how to install component speakers in your door, how to run the wires from inside the car to your door. How to integrate with factory systems.

[Speaker 2] (21:33 - 21:33)

Factory integration.

[Speaker 1] (21:33 - 23:27)

So speaker installation, radio installation, how to tune your amplifiers, the wires that he recommends and uses. And he is meticulous about this stuff. He's a perfectionist and it shows in his videos.

And I found him in preparation for training new advisors. I thought, Hey, this is a cool YouTube channel. I think I'm going to show this to my training class.

And as I watched more videos, I got to one where right there at the beginning, he says, and I want to thank this video's sponsor crutchfield.com. And I realized we sponsor his channel. I was floored.

I didn't know that. Our marketing department didn't consult me or let me know that. I found that out the hard way.

We approve. Totally approve. And I would be telling you about his YouTube channel, even if we didn't have a business relationship with him.

That's how good it is. It's also good enough that we do have a business relationship with him. Like that makes sense.

He's also sponsored by audio control and jail audio and several other brands. So we're in good company with Mark from car audio fabrication. And I think, I think if you're into car stereo installation at all, you can learn quite a bit from his videos.

I dig it. And did you know we interviewed him? I did know that.

I was trying to keep that close to my vest. I was going to bring it up if you didn't. Yeah, it was episode 23 of crutchfield live.

It was a few years ago now. But if you're interested in all the questions we asked him and he answered live on crutchfield live, there's a link to that show as there will be links to all of these resources in the show notes for this episode. So car audio fabrication, that's my number two.

I dig it.

[Speaker 2] (23:27 - 23:28)

Oh, I already said that.

[Speaker 1] (23:28 - 24:15)

I like it. That's right. That's right.

All right. One more each there, Huffy. What do you got?

All right. So my last one, it's not last place. That's not what I mean here.

But my last one, I would not be able to complete this episode without mentioning Andrew Robinson. He is just a wonderful presenter. He does have his own website.

Let me look that up real quick. It's therobinsonbrand.com. But I got to know him for his YouTube channel and his very thoughtful, meticulously well-presented, polished reviews of high-end audio gear.

Now, I think that's his calling card.

[Speaker 2] (24:15 - 24:25)

He is just so good at describing sound and painting a picture of what to expect with high-end gear.

[Speaker 1] (24:26 - 27:42)

He's just really, really good at that. And he has branched out. He's done TV reviews more recently.

He's done a lot with sound bars and home theater gear, along with two-channel gear. And I just really like his perspective and the way he articulates what he hears when he's listening or even interacting. He talks about menu systems and setup and build quality, things like that on the gear that he reviews.

He just does an excellent job. I haven't seen any of this Andrew Robinson's videos, so I'm curious. It sounds like he's very much the opposite of cheap audio.

Yeah, it's definitely a different take. It's a different angle. Sometimes they might review the same gear.

They may even have the same takes, but they're probably going to present it very differently. So it's really good stuff. It's good to get different perspectives on the same thing.

It is. So that's actually one of the reasons I love him. You just mentioned different perspective.

One of the things he does within his episode, quite often when reviewing product, is he brings in his wife's perspective on the product. And I love the fact that they don't always agree. They see things a little bit differently.

So she's very knowledgeable. She doesn't really go on camera very often, at least not in the episodes I've watched. But I will say that I think that is a very valuable addition to his content.

So is her perspective the type of person who is not into it, but is like, okay, tell me about this new audio gear and why I should care? Or is she just as passionate, but has different opinions than him? What's her angle?

I think that she's incredibly knowledgeable. She is not a novice with the gear. It's just a different perspective.

That's cool. Yeah, it's good stuff. So props to them.

It's really cool that they can work together. I think that's pretty neat. And all of his content that I've come across has just been top-notch.

So good stuff. And that was Andrew Robinson. Andrew Robinson.

And the website one more time, The Robinson Brand. Yeah, now I need to go double-check because he may have multiple... Yeah, The Robinson Brand.

And we are affiliated with him because here I am on his website and I can click on a link on some products here and it takes you to our website, which I absolutely love. But this is the type of content creator that I would be sharing whether or not we had an affiliation with them or not. Our last resource is called Digital Trends.

They're wonderful. They are wonderful. I follow them on YouTube and have been doing so for years.

The main thing I get out of them for doing my job of training new sales advisors at Crutchfield is a lot of the year I spend it talking about car audio stuff. And then we switch gears and we train on home audio stuff. And that's when you bring me in sometimes.

That's when I bring you in because you're more passionate about home stuff. That's okay. And I binge watch digital trends videos to get caught up on what is the latest thing happening, especially in the world of TV.

I think I've fed you a couple of those.

[Speaker 2] (27:42 - 27:45)

I think you are the reason I even know about digital trends.

[Speaker 1] (27:46 - 27:48)

Yeah, I think I've sent you something like, yeah, I've already watched that one.

[Speaker 2] (27:49 - 27:49)

Right.

[Speaker 1] (27:49 - 28:38)

Yeah. Now I've gotten ahead of you in some cases. And so I still recommend digital trends as a great resource, as a great YouTube channel with good videos especially about the TVs.

They are really, really good at being in front of the news. They are one of the ones right at the cusp of the day something gets announced. So usually they're coming out with content to support an announcement from a manufacturer.

They have a history of being invited to places like Sony and Samsung before new products are out so that they can be ahead of the game. It's one of the things you're going to get with that channel. And they're going through some weird legal stuff right now with Caleb Dennison, who was the host of many of their videos for years.

He's no longer with digital trends.

[Speaker 2] (28:38 - 28:39)

That's unfortunate.

[Speaker 1] (28:39 - 29:00)

There's some legal stuff. They've got a new guy hosting most of those videos, Chris Hagan. They're still doing a lot of the cool videos I liked like the You Asked videos.

Those are some of my favorite where they answer viewers questions about TVs. Hey, we should try that. You Asked podcast at crutchfield.com.

[Speaker 2] (29:00 - 29:00)

There you go.

[Speaker 1] (29:00 - 29:14)

Comment on our videos or not video. Yeah, videos, social media posts anywhere. Yes.

It'll all get back to us somehow. But regardless of whatever's happening with digital trends and Caleb Dennison, we wish both of them the best.

[Speaker 2] (29:14 - 29:14)

Yeah.

[Speaker 1] (29:14 - 29:22)

And we hope that they both continue to make compelling content and that they both get along and solve their legal issues with peace and love.

[Speaker 2] (29:23 - 29:23)

Yes.

[Speaker 1] (29:23 - 31:23)

They have been making content for years that would get me excited about new products that are coming out. So yeah, hopefully they both continue. Even if it's down separate paths, I certainly hope they can get out there and create content and keep on creating great content.

Yeah, because they've been making videos without Caleb Dennison for months now and they're still chugging along, making great content. They look great. They are doing videos about the questions people have.

Right. About TVs and burn in and smart TVs and all of that technology and reviews of the newest stuff. So still highly recommend digital trends.

I wish they weren't going through the legal stuff. Yeah, agreed. Hey, everybody.

It's JR here in the editing booth for Crutchfield the podcast. And I just had to jump in here because literally the day after Huffy and I recorded this episode, Caleb Dennison announced on his YouTube channel, Caleb rated that he is back, that he has settled his legal issues with his previous employer, digital trends and announcing all the content he has planned for Caleb rated. So everybody that's been missing Caleb Dennison's TV reviews and other content for the last four and a half months.

Well, rest and wait no more. He is back and I couldn't be more excited that both digital trends still exists and that Caleb Dennison is able to make excellent videos for his new channel. So Caleb rated is the added on extra resource for this part of the show.

Please check it out. Links to all of this stuff will be in the show notes. Okay.

Now back to Huffy and me. I got one other thing we should talk about. Ooh, what's that?

Crutchfield.com is actually a pretty good resource.

[Speaker 2] (31:23 - 31:24)

Oh, okay.

[Speaker 1] (31:24 - 31:27)

Well, well, well, well, well, we should have just talked about Crutchfield.com.

[Speaker 2] (31:27 - 31:28)

The whole time?

[Speaker 1] (31:28 - 32:45)

Yeah. Yeah. I thought of that.

But there's a lot on the cutting room floor. Sure. I mean, there's tons of articles, tons of videos, tons of podcast episodes, right?

Where you can get a lot of your questions answered. So we are not too humbled to brag about the many people that work here creating very compelling, educational, interesting, informational articles, videos, photos, all that stuff to help you pick out the right stuff, right? If you're looking for a camera, a TV, a car stereo, a drone, any and all of the consumer electronics we sell, I mean, just go to Crutchfield.com and that's a great place to start. And if any of the resources we have mentioned in this episode are helpful to you, then a rising tide floats all the boats. And so let's highlight those that are doing good work that will help you make great decisions for what to buy. I dig it.

And last but not least, just call Crutchfield if you have real questions. Like if you can't get your question answered by one of these resources. Talk to one of our coworkers.

Call us. You'll be talking to somebody I trained for sure. And ask them about what you're interested in and they will help you determine whether it's the right thing for you.

And if not, what is.

[Speaker 2] (32:45 - 32:45)

Right.

[Speaker 1] (32:47 - 33:22)

I think we just did an episode. I like it. I think we should wrap this thing up.

I think we should. Crutchfield The Podcast is recorded in our underground bunker studio here at our beautiful headquarters in Charlottesville, Virginia. Huffy and I do the show together.

We write it. We send it over to our editors and our lawyers and- Wait, wait. Aren't you the editor?

Well, I do the technical editing and the story editing.

[Speaker 2] (33:22 - 33:23)

And then they make sure that we don't get in trouble.

[Speaker 1] (33:23 - 34:07)

And then my editor tells me what else I need to edit. Fair enough. So that will happen.

And I hope he doesn't tell me to edit that out because I love little nuggets like that. Because that's definitely a part of how this show happens. It's not just me in a vacuum and Huffy and me down in this underground bunker studio.

So thank you to all the people that help us. Abby and Alexis do our social media stuff. And so if you see any of our posts with them, feel free to comment on that stuff.

They'll funnel your comments back to us. And they're usually the ones that promote these episodes of the podcast. So big thanks to all the help they give us.

Dom and Tara and all the people behind the scenes that help us make this. It's great. So thank you.

Thank you. Thank you. And lastly, big thanks.

Oh, you got something else?

[Speaker 2] (34:07 - 34:08)

I was going to say we should thank Bill.

[Speaker 1] (34:09 - 34:36)

Yeah, because he continues to pay us to talk about the coolest stuff on the planet. Thanks, Bill. Thanks, Bill.

Why haven't we been ending every episode ever with thanks, Bill? Yeah, that's actually... Then like a roll off of the music and then we're good.

I love it. Cool. I think we got it.
