Each series will offer additional features beyond this, often with incremental improvements within a given line. This can include more powerful processing, support for more advanced HDR formats, and more.

LG QNED TVs

LG's QNEDs use LED backlighting enhanced by color-boosting quantum dots. These quantum dots are a special film layer of light-reactive nanocrystals that help deliver brilliant color at any brightness level. Each ultra-tiny nanocrystal boosts the light of a different wavelength. This widens and intensifies a TV's color range for higher levels of saturation than otherwise possible.

All LG QNED TVs share these features (and those listed above for all of LG's 2024 models):

The 85 Series is LG's value-packed intro to their QNED line. It's also the budget pick on our list of this year's Best TVs. The 85 offers a crisp, vibrant picture with a full suite of smart and gaming features — all at a great price.

90 Series

The QNED 90 Series uses a more advanced form of LED backlighting called "Mini LED." This technology packs in thousands of tiny little lights and controls them with incredible precision for greater detail and contrast than a standard LED TV can achieve.

LG OLED TVs

LG is famous for their OLED TVs, leading the industry for several years running. OLED panels don't use a separate backlight layer to illuminate their screens and instead are able to light up (or turn off) each and every pixel on the screen independently. The end result is a super-detailed picture with incredible contrast and deep, true blacks.

All LG OLED TVs share these features (and those listed above for all of LG's 2024 models):

• self-illuminating OLED (Organic Light Emitting Diode) display panel produces near-infinite picture contrast

B4 Series

The B4 Series is LG's entry to their crowd-pleasing OLED lineup. It delivers rich, beautiful picture quality with the pixel-level detail that helped LG earn their reputation. The B Series offers a lot for great price, which is exactly why I picked one up myself. I've sunk in hours of 4K gaming at 120Hz and movie night has been a highlight of the week ever since.

The C4 Series of OLEDs is LG's most popular, striking a competitive balance between premium performance and price. These TVs improve on the already excellent high-contrast picture OLEDs are known with "evo" panel technology for a serious boost in color and brightness. It also boats more advanced processing over its little brother the B4 Series.
